Automatically aleart a channel when you follow someone
As of May 20, 2009: This addon is unsupported for the time being. AddOn authoring was only a hobby of mine. Mike-N-Go is not currently playing WoW, thus not creating or maintaining mods for WoW. Brief Description:
Want to alert your friend or party that you are following them? Or simply add some RP flare to something you already do? This mod is for you! Based off of a macro I once made, I thought, "Why not make it without the macro, why not make it trigger off of the following events so the user does not have to press the macro each time he follows?" And this mod was born.
Use:
Log in, and follow. It is defaulted to the channel emote, and you can change it to say, whisper, party, or raid. Also, the 'auto' channel will try raid, party, and say, in that order. You can set the message to something custom.
If you wish to adjust any settings, they can be accessed from the /atf or /announcethefollowing slash menu. Accepted commands are {help|toggle|on|off|set||current|up|update|}. You may key /atf help in game for more information.
For example, you can set it to the auto channel with a custom whisper by keying '/atf set auto I say this when I am following %s.&&I say this when I stop following %s.' Note how && separates the follow and stop follow message, and %s will get replaced to whatever the name of the person is who you did the action on. If the two parts (separated by the &&) are not included when you key this command, it will resort to the default messages in this order: Last thing you set (emote/whipser/other) to, or the original defaults, if you key /atf set say defaults; it will try in that order. Note, that you are currently only allowed one %s per string; one per the start message, one for the end message.
Defaults:
Emote: "is following %s." / "has stopped following %s."
Whisper: "I am currently auto-following you." / "I have stopped auto-following you."
Other (auto, say, party, raid): "I am currently auto-following %s." / "I have stopped auto-following %s."
The mod may also be toggled on/off. /atf toggle or /atf on or /atf off
Additional information in game, key /atf help.
Installation:
After you decompress the file, copy the AnnounceTheFollowing folder into your Interface/AddOns folder under your World of Warcraft Installation Directory.
