I don't really understand why people are against the battle.net system. I've never had a problem logging in.

Eventually, Blizzard will merge the accounts anyway... so why not do it now and get it over with?

It's not that anyone is against the Battle.net system. It's buggy. The two major bugs I've seen (I volunteer in the tech support forum so I see tons of it) so far are connection issues (they can no longer log into Wow after they merge) and the accidental merging of accounts where the two people are not related but share the same last name (they don't even know one another, but one person accidentally gets full access to the other account). I would say those are pretty huge bugs.
