    Low Memory Chat  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

    Low Memory Chat is no longer maintained on WoWInterface. For the latest release, check Curse.


    If you are looking for a highly configurable chat mod, LM Chat isn't for you: this is an extremely small add-on, and has no configurable settings.
    Help about enabling an disabling features can be found here.


    Features
    • Low Memory Usage: less than 1,7 kb (no modules)
    • Hides the up, down and menu chat buttons
    • Chat menu button inside the chat frame, at the upright corner optional module
    • Enables chat scrolling
    • Relocates bottom button to be inside the chat frame, and it only appears when you are scrolling.
    • Shorten and removes channel names (the color should be enough)
    • Makes Yell, Whisper, Party, Raid, Guild and Officer channels sticky optional modules
    • Moves the editbox to the top of the frame optional module
    • Lets you choose between several editbox styles (see the second image)
    • Timestamps optional module
    • Disable Tab Flash optional module
    • Disable Text Fading optional module

    Hello,

    Thanks. I found prat to be easy to use... but LMC is cake. The real reason I used prat was for that editbox texture. Call me crazy, but it looks nice.

    Forget, I downloaded Prat and started to use it to understand how it did that.
    Gosh... it can be harder to use than LM Chat!

    Anyway, I figured out that it uses a custom texture to achieve that look. I will see what I can do.

    is there any way to shorten channel names other than guild etc?

    Making the editbox to look like that is not easy, because the chat frame border is not really a border texture (confusing, I know).
    It would help me a lot if you were able tell me were that photo came from and which addon is used to change the editbox appearance.

    Do any know of an addon that can colour the names in chat and that might work with this addon since I reckon you will not add this to your addon ?

    Ok... I already have the new version. Now I will have to upload 2 different ones. Jesus...

    P.S: There are 3 editbox styles included: blizzard, the classic LM Chat style and one without borders. If the last one isn't how you wish, tell me what you would like to change.
