Introduction:
Neuron is a full featured action Bar addon for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
Important Note: Neuron tentatively works with World of Warcraft: Classic and The Burning Crusade: Classic, but none of our developers actively play Classic, so support and bug fixes are offered without any guarantee. Realistically, many bugs in Classic require max level characters to debug, and none of us have any such characters. Outside help with Classic is always welcome!

The future of Neuron
I'm thinking now may be a reasonable time to sunset Neuron. The game API is changing so much, I would still have a mountain of work before next week's prepatch, and I would have no guarantee that my changes would be stable and tested in time for a good user-experience. Likewise, with the changes coming to talents, and actionbars now allowing for different loadouts per spec-profile, to make that work with Neuron all profiles would have to be wiped, requiring a hard version upgrade in the process. At the same time, the core Blizzard UI now has 90% of the functionality that I set out to add with Neuron, and the core Blizzard UI is much more stable and better implemented that what I am able to do with Neuron in my spare time.
Many of you may not know this, but in my personal life I am a neuroscientist (hence the name Neuron), and that doesn't leave me with a lot of free time. You may have noticed a drop in development efforts around 2020 when I was writing my dissertation for my PhD, and unfortunately I have even less time now. I truly feel that if I can't give Neuron the attention it needs, it's probably better to retire it entirely. There's nothing more soul-crushing to me than to have people using my work, experience issues, and having a bad time because of it. Don't be sad though, there's plenty of options for actionbars out there, and, heck, you can probably get away with just using the game's UI from now on for most play styles. And who knows? This may not be the end of Neuron. Maybe I'll have an itch and need to return and get it working for Dragonflight, or maybe someone else will step up and take over like I did 4 expansions ago. If that sounds like something you'd like to do, please reach out. Thank you all for your support these many years. It's been an honor to code for you. I think in my retirement I'm just going to play the game and stop worrying to much about breaking API changes and getting same-day releases out. ;-) |

Guide? and how to deal with. [mod:ctrlshift]
Hi
AWESOME ADDON - THANKS I'm trying to switch from bartender completely in WOTLK and struggling with bar states. Is there a guide somwhere? I want my main druid bar to switch with stances - that works fine! I also want to either switch it or hide it when BOTH ctrl and shift are pressed and show a different bar. I can't seem to make custom states work, and also don't know how I would combine stance and modifier state changing. As an alternative I could make the bar disappear with [mod:crlshift] and show a different bar. I can't seem to find a way to put [mod:ctrlshift]hide;show as a visibility option. any help appreciated (Also - what does the multi spec button do in WOTLK? Again any where I can read about it most welcome) |

Leave vehicle button wowtlk
Hello,
I am writing this message because while I was using a vehicle for a mission, the button to abandon the vehicle was not displayed, but only the vehicle's abilities appeared in the main action bar. Does anyone know how to make the button appear? |

I'm more than happy to hand off responsibilities to someone if they were to step up. The way I feel, either Neuron needs to have much more development time or it should be retired for the new base UI. It's been somewhat stale (which is my fault) for a full expansion, mostly due to my waning interest in the game tbh, and that's not doing anyone any good. |

Spell/debuff durations on buttons
Hello! Thanks for keeping this addon alive, been using it since Macaroon and it's the only one that does what I want with my gaming keypads.
Has there been any progress or resolution on the issue of displaying remaining spell durations on buttons? In previous versions (I'll use Rogue for example here), if I Rupture a target, the duration of Rupture would appear as a countdown number on the Rupture button. If I tab off that target, the number went away. If I tabbed back, again the remaining duration of Rupture on that target appeared. Buff duration also appeared on-button (Slice and Dice, for example). The feature disappeared some time ago and has not returned. I've resorted to setting up Weak Auras to serve the purpose, but it was so much nicer as a countdown on the button itself through Neuron. Is this feature on the slate to make a comeback, or has Blizzard broken it forever? I hope it's not the latter, because WeakAuras can still grab the info and display it, not sure why this couldn't be a Neuron feature (but I'm not the expert lol). Good luck with Dragonflight! I got nervous when they announced a UI revamp, immediately thought of you and hoping you're planning on continuing this amazing addon! |
