Problems with Insomniax

hey I installed Insomniax and when I logged into the game everything was fine except my chat window, I seen no chat at all, no general, no guild, no say, nothing, it didnt even tell me I joined general chat's. I ended up uninstalling the ui in order to get my chat back, but is there a way around this?
