Pick for 3/28: AVR (new) & gotGestures (new)

AVR:



AVR stands for Augmented Virtual Reality, and it allows you to draw on your screen and share it with guildies or people in your group/raid. What gives AVR its name is that it feels like the drawings are actually part of the 3D world itself. They can move, stretch and skew based on your character's position/facing and the angle/distance of your camera. This means that you can use it to keep a visual indicator of your Frost Nova range around your character (if you have it set to move with you), draw positions of where to stand for a fight (and actually be able to move there during the fight), or whatever your needs call for. Because the drawings are still *really* on an overlay and not part of the actual 3D world, they will overlap anyone/thing actually in the game world, including walls or terrain that isn't very level. But still very cool nonetheless.

gotGestures:



If you are a fan of mouse-gestures, or maybe just want to try them out, then give this addon a try. It allows you to assign a script to a gesture. The screenshot above shows that Up-Down (UD) is bound to taking a screenshot. Hold down whatever key you choose to bind to gotGestures, move your mouse up then down, and voila! Note: You'll have to write the scripts yourself (or find help) for the actions you wish to bind to gestures, and they can only be non-secure actions (ie, no casting spells, etc). The only script that comes installed is to open the gotGestures config window. You can use this to take screenshots (as the example shows), send messages to chat, open config windows, minimize/maximize your quest objectives tracker, etc.
