Its due to a change with the aura system whereby blizz stopped it so you cannot interact with them during combat unless you use the newly created secure frames for them. A big change for nUI5 but is being worked on in nUI6. However, I think I did manage to tweak a temp fix for nUI5 for those getting this problem.

It includes my attempt at the fix after triggering the affect while fighting a test dummy repeatedly.
