patch error

i run wow on xp was workin fine till i bought burnin crusade then it say downloadin patch 2.4 then after download it says (Patch Required Press the restart button belown to exit world of warcraft and download the patch.)
can any1 help please

Sounds like it's working as intended. Keep following the prompts to restart and accept. There are 3 (I think) more patches including 2.4. Also, in account management section of worldofwarcraft.com, there is a download link to bypass a lot of the BS (must be logged in).

Does it go to a different patch each time, or has it been stuck on 2.4 patch for multiple attempts?

been stuck It downloads the first patch then downloads another patch but then it still wont let me log in without pressing restart AGAIN so im getting nowhere.

If you are on 6 mb+ cable internet, it's likely faster to just save your interface and wtf folders to desktop and run the installer from the account management page.

If you are on a slower internet, I'll let you decide how you wish to reinstall. I've never had any luck with repairing in the middle of getting stuck like you have, and it's happened to me a number of times.

I know this is the LAST thing you want to hear, BUT...
Save your interface and wtf folders and try again (delete + reinstall).
Don't forget to save your interface and wtf folders.

This has happened enough times for me to just skip all the aggravating attempts to fix it unsuccessfully. Good luck, may the force be with you.

yeah, as long as you are sure you are downloading new patches, keep following the prompts to restart..etc.

I know it seems broken, but it really is normal.

If you have Wrath of the Lich King, then pop in the DVD and install from there. Since it's a universal installer, it will install WoW, BC, Wrath, and begin to patch from 3.0.1 up to present. Doing it this way via the DVD should take a little less than 2 hours to install from start to play time.

If you don't have the Wrath DVD, you can download the universal installer from inside your account administration page;
