The site linked in my OP to the extract information. The documentation has moved from WowPedia to Wiki.gg.
There is nothing specific to wow for vaildating XML. For VS try
this. It should have links to all the required bits.
You'll want to install
BugGrabber and
BugSack for in-game debugging (they work together).
