Removing Sound Add-on

Are there any addons to remove the stomping sound of the rhino and core hound hunter pets. Its rather annoying at times.

Thanks.

A quick search yielded only one result: NoMoreStompSounds.

It seems to be not up to date, though and I have no experience with this addon, at all.

It appears to be just a sound file replacement, it shouldn't require any updating unless Blizzard makes more sounds.

All you need to do is open notepad, create a new file, save it as FootstepsGiant01.wav to Data\Sound\Character\Footsteps\GiantFootSteps

Create 4 more only with a dif numerical value in the name (02, 03, 04, 05).

That's all those empty sound files should be.. a blank text file with a wav extention.

Edit: You can muffle just about any irritating sound in the game. You just need to find out the name of the sound file and the path to where it's saved in the Data/Sound directory.... then just create a blank file as described above.

That's exactly what the mod as posted earlier does.
It's an archive of blank sound files exactly matching the same path as the ones that are referred to ingame.

You need to create the sound folder, all sounds are stored in the .mpq files. But WoW will use any it finds in the correct sound folder first.

I know that.

I was explaining to the OP how to do it themselves without having to download anything.
