old world rares - xp - npcscan
 

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me with paths for finding the old world rares. npcscan helps us notice the rares, with a simple path we can kill every rare in a zone thus giving us ****load of xp. It will be great for those who are bored of questing.

I'll try to update this thread tomorrow with a map.

While I was trying to map all the rares, a little searching showed me that wowhead already does what I want to do:

If you like I could share with you a list of NPC name and ID's over many mobs not in NPCScan by default, think I got about 400 npcs if not more added to mine, you only gotta reset the cache once a week or something if you wish to level an alt and get notified properly when you encounter one again. :P

Most rares don't give more xp than any other at their level, so I don't understand the plan at all.

Really? I've noticed that killing them gives equal to about a quest or two usually since 4.0

I've heard this before. Like in 1.0.

I've never, ever seen it.

Maybe you should go out and kill some rares to see that. Though here is a screenshot of me killing Molok the crusher before and after his death. He is 2 levels lower than me but still gave me 3220 xp with 5 piece heirlooms. Without them he'd give 2200 xp.
