Problems with bags

I've looked through the FAQ and bug report and I can't see anything on my problem. When I hit 'b' to bring up my bags, nothing happens. If i hit the icon in the bottom right corner they come up. I've tried reassigning in the keybindings, /reloading and logging out and in. I'm not sure if I'm missing something simple or if it's a bug.
