I'd like to offer a suggestion to add an optional audio alert countdown, starting at 5sec before landing with a different alert sound at touchdown.
Very often I alt-tab during taxi and just as often I get distracted and forget about WoW. Having a auditory reminder just before landing would definitely help to optimize gametime....
