From memory, you can't lock 'em. But you can close/hide 'em.
I can't play atm, which means I'll have to try and track down the source code for the patch on the internet in order to see if I can figure out what's causing the problem... the odds are against me.

Are you saying it occurs once when you log in and right click... and then never again, until you log out and log in again ?
These slash commands were provided to prevent taint issues, but might solve this problem :
/pspot -rightoff
PartySpotter should remember that you disabled this functionality between log ins.

As far as I know, GetPlayerMapPosition() only works for certain kinds of 'unitid', because Blizzard wanted to make sure people couldn't develop complex range checking mods. In particular, I'm pretty sure it won't work for "target" - and I'm even more certain it doesn't work when the target is an NPC.

I was wondering more about which version of Cartographer you were using in terms of version 3 (i.e. the new Google Map style one...) or version 2 the (i.e. the 'legacy' one...)
I was only trying to support the legacy style version 2 ... but as different people seem to be resurrecting it, I'm not sure I can guarantee compatibil...

Hiya, sorry for late reply, been very busy recently.
First, there is no way to turn off the secondary BG icons - I too find AlphaMap most useful with the same kind of Battleground setup you use, but find that player dots can obscure the on map objectives (I use PartySpotter to improve player icons) - so I find the secondary ones...

Based on user reports, there does seem to be a compatibility problem with the latest version of AlphaMap (or possibly with the latest version of Gatherer, I can't be certain atm)

AlphaMap_Cities should work fine under WotLK with the current version of AlphaMap.
However, it has not been updated to include Dalaran - and might not be updated for a while yet.
You don't have to have MobMap - AlphaMobMap is just for people who do use that AddOn; You can feel free to disable AlphaMobMap if you like.
