Why dishwasher? It keeps the plates clean.
I actually like Blizzard's default nameplates, they're fine. Plus, it's good to have them on for the likes of ConRO which doesn't work right otherwise. Still, they can get a bit noisy, eh?
Simple mod, with /dw 0.0 to 1.0 (ex: /dw 0.5) you can set how transparent (0) or how visible (1) the nameplates are. This isn't all nameplates though, your target will always be completely visible regardless of setting. This makes it easier to be sure of your target without excess noisiness.
TL;DR: Want all nameplates except for your current target to be faded/transparent? This does just that.

Note: Having both default friendly nameplates on and the compact party/raid frame enabled is a toxic concoction. I never noticed as I never have friendly nameplates on, but I accidentally did on my healer and oh boy... Errors. The compact frame system is a nightmare of ancient code that needs to get updated. It's vexed me more than a few times. Anyway, I don't know how to fix this yet, so this is just a general PSA. If you're seeing this, and you need both friendly nameplates and compact frames on on a character, disable this mod for that character. I'll keep poking at it, but... I don't relish engaging more with the compact frame nightmare.
