Plater Nameplates  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v8.0.1.153
by: Tercioo [More]

Plater is a handsome and light addon for nameplates!

Features:
- New nameplates for friendly characters.
- Unlock configs to modify the new personal health bar/power bar in the middle of the screen.
- Allows to change the size of the resource indicators such as the runes for Death Knights.
- Indicates when a npc is an objetive of a quest.
- Highlight detector npcs inside Suramar city.
- Color change by aggro and by player role (tank or dps).
- Dynamic sizing allowing to have two sets of size, one for combat and other out of combat.
- Allows full modification of textures.
- Allows to modify the clickable area of the plate.
- Unlock separate config for each type of unit: Friendly Player, Enemy Player, Friendly Npc, Enemy Npc.
- Show your buffs and debuffs, allowing to black list some of them.

Important: by default the health bar of enemy nameplates has a height 2 pixel when out of combat, but do not be fooled by that, each nameplate has by default 45 pixels of clickable area (vertical) and both the health bar and the clickable area can be modified.

Just had a quick thought for a feature, similar to what TidyPlates had where you are able to filter out certain units from displaying nameplates.

An example for this may be something like Zul where there are a lot of crawgs up, bombarding you with nameplates that you don't really need to/care about seeing. Maybe this could be done with a Script instead even, no harm in asking though!

Thanks!
I think you can do that with scripts in the scripting tab, just create a new one and add the units in the trigger.
On the OnShow script do a unitFrame:Hide() and on the OnHide do unitFrame:Show()

Wowhead tells 3 npcs 'spawn of g'huun' exists, those two you listed and 136104.
You can also track by its name, but remove the 'spawn of g'huun' from the "Fixate on You [Plater]" script to avoid overlaps.

nameplate color change for debuff

Im trying to make a script to change nameplate color whenever I chill the target with frost mage. Im setting the trigger to debuff, typing id of chilled and using this script:

Code:
constructor
function (self, unitId, unitFrame, envTable)

    Plater.SetNameplateColor (unitFrame, "blue")
    Plater.RefreshNameplateColor (unitFrame)

end

on show
function (self, unitId, unitFrame, envTable)
    Plater.SetNameplateColor (unitFrame, "blue")
end

on update
function (self, unitId, unitFrame, envTable)

    Plater.SetNameplateColor (unitFrame, "blue")

end

on hide
function (self, unitId, unitFrame, envTable)
    Plater.RefreshNameplateColor (unitFrame)
end
but it doesnt work, can you fix that for me? also can this be done to change the color of the name instead of nameplate?

EDIT: fixed it by adding chilled to debuff tracking in "Buff Tracking" tab.

Install buggrabber and bugsack to see what's going on.
Also, make sure any other add-on you're using does not have an option to hide Blizzard nameplates like ElvUI has.

I have a Feature request regarding the dispellable buffs, could you add a glow effect for all dispellable buffs like this weakaura? https://wago.io/purgebuffs
(Do you prefer feature requests here or in the issue tracker?)

The border color is mostly okay, but a glow would help differentiate it.

And lastly, this expansion Force of Nature (treants) by balance druids is an extremely strong dungeon utility. Currently when they use it the nameplates change color as if we lost threat (red), I noticed in other nameplate addons like threatplates they change color to yellow/neutral. This could be due to the fact Threatplates has a color setting for "medium threat" whereas plater only has aggro.

Personally as a tank, medium threat color setting would be useful for other situations as well.

edit: this is wrong as I just noticed the "aggro on you warning", I can't think of a reason why Threatplates handles it differently

Hope you'll have time to look over these suggestions, otherwise a great addon!
For the glow on dispel buffs, go to Scripting tab and duplicate "Aura - Buff Alert [Plater]", remove all triggers there and add the buffs you want to glow.
Automatic glow on all dispellable auras isn't a good idea for other reasons.

Plater has 'medium aggro' called 'aggro on you warning' on the Aggro tab.

For balance trents you can use this script: https://pastebin.com/BTe7vmdU
It will change the color of the nameplate when the unit has the trent taunt debuff, you can change the color at "envTable.NameplateColor = "pink"" in the constructor script.
