Neuron  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.2.1
by: Maul, Soyier

Introduction:
Neuron is a full featured action Bar addon for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and World of Warcraft: Classic

Want to contribute?

Example:

Theme Support:
Neuron inherits all theming courtesy of the Masque addon. Neuron has full Masque compatibility, and the theming options found in Masque are quite in-depth, not to mention the robust portfolio of skins made to support Masque. In short, you can make your bars look any way you like!

Features:
  • Neuron features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, last but not least, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Neuron contains a graphical bar editor that allows for nearly endless customization to bar shape, size, orientation, and much more! Further, Neuron has neither the limitations on max number of bars nor on the max number of buttons per bar, as you might find in addons such as Bartender4 or Dominoes.

Credits:

Translators:
  • German: Aszkarath, Wolfsmutter
  • French: Cinedelle, El_Mapache
  • Brazilian Portuguese: Alanbre20
  • Russian: Hubbotu
  • Simplified Chinese: Acey7, Cestmysndee

Disclaimer:

Neuron is a fork of the amazing Ion Action Bars addon started by Connor Chenoweth aka Maul, for World of Warcraft Legion and onwards. All credit for the bulk of this addon should go to him accordingly, along with SLOKnightFall for his maintainership throughout the years. I, Soyier, take no credit for the idea or implementation of this addon prior to my adoption of the code in the Fall quarter of 2017.

might be an aceDB-3.0 issue though. I'm not really familiar with how that works.
There was a patch that broke things? ugh.
Worked fine last I played and today a patch got applied and I don't get my profiles loaded any more.
So I guess so, unless I'm the only one with problems.
.... I mean, sure I have been fiddling with the addon, getting the flyout for items with (and without) tootip search work almsost flawlessly. (No mandatory or optional keys ... yet, and updating hits are needed).

.... But that shouldn't hinder the addon from loading the profiles.
nope it shouldn't. For the profiles to not be loading something SERIOUSLY wrong must have happened. This is one of the earliest events that happens when the addon loads. I can't test it until I get home unfortunately

Ive discovered it is because the buttons are macros (at least I think thats why). If I have the blizz bars up, the tooltip appears where I want, but if it is a macro it appears on the cursor.

does that make sense?

TLDR: the tooltip appears at the cursor, any way to change this to a fixed location?

Thanks

Edit - Ohh I just remembered something else. My cast bar is fine for casting spells, but when I am channeling things like Drain Soul for example, nothing appears.
I can probably add in something, yes. This seems reasonable. Please add in the feature request to GitHub

Tyvm for your amazing add-on and I look forward to using it in classic and current retail
Would be happy to look into both issues (please see my time constraints below). Can you please file these requests as two separate issues on GitHub? It's nearly impossible for me to keep up with the requests in this thread.
I can, and i will.. and Yes I totally understand your time restraints, RL is ALWAYS priority 1.

P.S. Option 2 is the one I am more interested in more then anything.. If its just a simple code change I would be happy to implement it into mine that I have installed atm.. Just would need what I need to change.

Awesome!

I've just finished setting it up and been playing with it for a few minutes and everything seems to be working fine so far!

I've found 1 small visual only(I assume) bug having to do with buttons toggling through being lit up(glow) when you press a keybind (even if no spell is bound there), I'll post a bugreport later.

Thumbs up Re: Re: Re: Classic

Haha you don't need to pay me. I can look into it when I get a chance. There will have to be some specific changes to the way we disable blizzard elements and to how we capture elements like the bag bar and the menu bars. I can try to abstract that code a bit to make it easy to work between the two. The last thing I want is to then have to maintain two giant addons hehe. I'm happy to facilitate helping someone learning their way around Neuron also :-)

Just to give y'all an idea of my schedule right now, I'm really busy until September 2nd. I'm on the board of directors of the GNOME Foundation, and we have our big yearly summit in Greece this year. I'm going to be gone starting the 15th and lasting till the 2nd in Europe. Along with that I'm still deep in the muck of my PhD in Neuroscience (hence the name Neuron *wink wink* ).

I'll see if I can get into the classic beta and how exhaustive the updates will need to be. It looks like the release for Classic will be while I'm away, so I won't be around to support anyone. Sooooo, don't get your hopes up, but I'll try double extra hard to do it for all of you

Truthfully, I have zero idea. I don't know what Classic requires, or what the API is like
Afaik the API is basically what's on live (they decided to start working with that rather than the 1.12 api), and then they adjusted it to be more vanilla-like, so I assume it's more open than live, but still with (a few?) differences to live. I haven't personally looked into it, but judging by how fast other big addons like weakauras could release a working addon for classic beta (took a few days) and the number of "fan updates" to other addons I assume changes required are quite minimal and mostly search&replace. The "open to everyone" stress test of classic is up until tomrrow for testing!

Would just love to be able to use Neuron in vanilla! I'm not rich by any means, but if you (or anyone else reading this) is willing to release a working classic version of Neuron I'd donate $20 in bitcoin to you/them! (I know it's not much money, but I can't afford to pay more, even this is stretching it, and I also don't know how much work is required, could be a TOC update and search&replace'ing 2 function names or 100 hours, I really don't know.)

If you want confirmation of payment before releasing it I completely understand(although I'd still appreciate it if you would release the code, and if not I'll post a link to it here myself, for others to use), contact me on discord: hid#2099 and we'll work it out, otherwise just post a bitcoin (or bitcoin cash) address here and I'll send as I download the addon
