Pls update to 4.3, i love that addon.
At the moment i do not get any warnings "full damage" at 25% and the tick sound is also not available.

for patch 4.2:

change line 42 to
Code:
local spellName = select(13,...)
to solve issues with tick sound.

Ok... So, to fix missing tick sound this is what you have to do:

1. Open DrainSoulTimer.lua
2. Go to line 37
3. Change local srcName = select(4,...) to local srcName = select(5,...)
4. Go to line 42
5. Change local spellName = select(10,...) to local spellName = select(11,...)
6. Save file
7. ???
8. Profit!

Hope this will fix the problem for everyone =)

have the same issue. someone on the EJ forums sugested:
You can fix Drain Soul Timer by using the fix they used for MSBT. Simply Change the 37th line in the .lua from "local srcName = select(4,...)" to "local srcName = select(5,...)"
but this doesn`t seem to work for me ;(

sound works fine

Make sure you not only have your regular in game sounds activated but that you go into the addon interface and manually turn on both sounds. For some reason even though I had both activated prior to the patch I had to turn them back on.

I had the exact same issue as Sayre.

When I extracted the Addon, the folder was named

DrainSoulTimer_2

and the files inside were named:

DrainSoulTimer\Sounds\tick.ogg
DrainSoulTimer\Sounds\quaddamage.ogg
DrainSoulTimer\changelog.txt
DrainSoulTimer\DrainSoulTimer.lua
DrainSoulTimer\DrainSoulTimer.toc

and so on, everything with a "DrainSoulTimer\" before the name of the actual file. There would be no way I could make WoW recognize the Addon.

Then, I compared a version earlier and this one and erased all the "DrainSoulTimer\" from the file names, the "_2" from the folder name, created a subfolder called "Sounds", and tossed the .ogg sounds inside it.

I think that's what Sayre meant.

Since very few people are complaining on that, I suppose this extraction "bug" is happening with only some ppl, so you can't "reproduce" the bug. But I can say I downloaded it like 10 times and all of them it extracted like this.

@vldsb: do you have the ingame sound effects activated? Do you hear other addons?

The DrainSoulTimer addon works, but the files need to be renamed (as of the current date, addon last updated 10/15/10). This is easy to do:

Rename the master folder from DrainSoulTimer_2 to DrainSoulTimer
Go into the master folder and make a subfolder called Sounds.
Change DrainSoulTimer\Sounds\tick.ogg to tick.ogg and place it in the Sounds subfolder.
Change DrainSoulTimer\Sounds\quaddamage.ogg to quaddamage.ogg and place it in the Sounds subfolder.
Delete the DrainSoulTimer\ from the names of all the remaining files leaving them as changelog.txt, DrainSoulTimer.lua, DrainSoulTimer.toc, DrainSoulTimer.xml, DrainSoulTimerOptions.xml, and localization.lua
i have them exactly as you styated above yet with everything ticked @ sound i do not hear the sounds

yoyo

so you reckon just with the sounds enabled but nothing else in rest ( like all that annoying combat sounds etc etc ) the addon wont make a sound when it ticks ? cause looking for the text kinda sucks

thanks for the great work

o/

ps: with all those annoying ingame sounds activated ( absolutely all of them ) i hear no tick sounds whatsoever

The new version works perfect only the sound is a little bit low compared to the other WoW sounds. Is there a possibility to increase the volume?
