stText  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: r9
by: Soeters [More]

I've stopped playing WoW, so this addon won't be updated again, at least not by me.
If someone feels like updating it, just PM me.

What is this

stText is a little addon which display some informations like:

  • Time
  • Latency
  • Memory usage (now with a tooltip for the 35 addons which uses the most memory)
  • Location
  • Coordinates
  • Framerate
  • Durability (thanks to phrozenassid)

Customisation

In the screenshot you can see some text written in teal, it's a custom color. You can choose a custom color or set the classcolor instead.

All the settings can be changed in Settings.lua. The settings are the text size, justify and the modules enabled.

To unlock a module, just type /stt (or /sttext) (Name of the module) (i.e /stt Clock to unlock the clock, or /stt Memory to unlock the memory module)
By default they will all be crowded at the center of the screen.
If type /stt or /stt help (indeed if you type something that's not a module name) to have a list all available modules
To move them, hold the Alt key and drag them wherever you want.

r9
Independant module outlines
Separated coords from location

r8
Outline text
Independant module sizes

r7
12/24 time format
Slash command help

r6

r5

r4

r3

r2

Why not, I may create it as an optional file for stText

With all the work I got at school, and some others things, I shouldn't be there before sunday.
On Wednesday, 13th if it isn't ok then it means that I have a problem

Durability

Shot you an email with the code for the durability module I wrote to work with stText with a stat block and tooltip. If it doesn't go through just let me know and I can resend it. Should save you some time if you haven't written one already.

Great addon, i like it very much only thing i would request and that is a guildroster... Ive seen alot of data addons but noone has a guildroster.
I hope this isnt to much of a hassle but it would complete my search to a low mb size data addon.

What do you mean by a guild roster, because I don't really see why stText should have something to do with rosters ?

Ahh I understand well now, I'll try to do it as fastest as possible (including Friends) and release it as an optional file.

getting this error message, but only when enabling class colours

1x stText_Durability:SetPoint(): Couldn't find region named '(null)':
<in C code>: ?
<in C code>: in function `SetPoint'
stText-r6\Core.lua:37: in function `CreateText'
stText-r6\Texts.lua:282: in function <stText\Texts.lua:84>

Locals:
(*temporary) = stText_Durability {
0 = <userdata>
}
(*temporary) = "CENTER"
(*temporary) = <table> {
firstTimeLoaded = 1
Above = <table> {}
}
(*temporary) = "CENTER"
(*temporary) = 0
(*temporary) = 0

---

Also: feature request.
Would it be possible to have the text sizes independant of each other, so the various modules could be at different sizes ?? That'd be a winner if you could swing that =)

Do you only get this error with the Durability module, or do you get this with every module ?
Anyway, I'll try to find the problem.

For the feature request, well, I'll see if that's possible without adding an option for every module
