Ara Broker SpecSwitcher

This data broker plugin:

- swaps your talent spec (and gear set) when clicked.
- suppresses chat spam caused by a spec switch.
- sets aliases (leave blank to remove).
- associates an Equipment Manager Set to the current spec.
- mirrors changes made with Blizzard's Equipment Manager.
- toggles the talent frame when right-clicked.
- provides an easy to use interface.

and other minor customizations and utilities...

Supports the following addons:
- AddonLoader (reduces load screen time).
- TipTac (SpecSwitcher mimic its appearence).

- Fixed gear switch (was delayed or prevented).
- Fixed default huge size for high res (was not using UIParent as parent).

r9
- Rewrote gear association and alias interfaces for 4.1 compat.
- Added: Shift+Click a gear set or a spec with an associated gear set to equip it.
- Added: MouseWheel on tooltip to change scale.
- Reacts on Blizzard's equipment manager "Delete" and "Change Name/Icon" actions (mirrors).
- Attempt to mimic TipTac look if you have TipTac.

- Took advantage of the gear manager interface to provide a user friendly way to (dis)associate gear.
- Added a dialog box to edit aliases.
- Within that dialog box you have the option to use the associated gear's icon & name instead.
- Shift+Click (gear manager) and Control+Click (alias editor) can now edit your off-spec using Shift+RightClick and Control+RightClick.
- Changed tooltip to be clear and concise.
- Fixed following issue: if your spec switch cast failed to complete, the associated gear was still equiped.
- Attempted to fix rare issues: gear set not equipping and/or chat spam not blocked

- Added the possibility to associate a Blizzard's equipment manager set to the current spec. You will have to manually type the name of the set.
- Removed borders from icons displayed in the tooltip for a cleaner look.

- Fixed an error that was occurring with StatBlockCore 2.61 when you mouse over the block in combat while "No Tooltip In Combat" is set.

- Fixed login issue.

- Added Middle-Click to toggle hints.

- Added aliases. Control-click to set one. Leave blank to remove an alias.
- Added hints to the tooltip.

Yeah, I'm sorry, it's ultra minimalist and use a command line instead of an input box. But the result is the same: you just have to type the alias.

For exemple, the chatbox pop with a line like "/spec 17/00/54 " and you just have to complete it like "/spec 17/0/54 DPS" and press Enter.

I currently have a version that switch equipment set on spec switch if an equipment set is defined. It works the same way so you have to know the name of the Blizzard's Equipment Manager set to type it correctly.

Not only it's not user friendly, but the tooltip display becomes messy as it could potentially show the spec's icon & name, the alias, the equipment set's icon & name, and the status (active/inactive).

So I think I will make a larger version for ease of use: less inputs, more straightforward, buttons to click instead of alt/shift/ctrl combos, more readable...

I would love that too. Always wanted to switch DK's presence on spec switch. But, last time I checked, it was not possible to delay that sort of thing (especially from a non secure LDB environment).

If this kind of thing is possible in a secure environment, I will probably make a secure version of this plugin, but you should note that the only LDB display capable of using secure plugins is StatBlockCore (I use it so it's no big deal on my side

With the patch dropping next week, any chance of getting an ETA on those?

I am building a whole new UI from scratch for 4.0.1+ and I have always included your addons.

So I'm afraid you will have to wait monday/thuesday, and if the patch is postponed, so will my addons. Sorry for the late, crappy answer. @TiaMaster: Is it still happening ? I may attempt a quick fix if that's the case, but that will affect others (slightly delaying the gear switch). If not, I plan to add a stronger solution to avoid glitches, but that will take longer.

When I go to set an alias for one of my specs, it's always the spec that I'm not currently using (so if I'm in Spec 1, the alias will be for spec 2). This can be verified both by the text within the alias editor itself, as well as by setting the alias and then looking at it in SpecSwitcher's tooltip. This would only be a minor inconvenience, except it essentially prevents low level toons from naming their spec, which leaves the numerical representation of the spec (which doesn't look as good). Just thought I'd let you know. Please keep up the great work.

I tried to summarize with "Ctrl+(Right)Click to set an alias" so I don't have to add 2 extra lines. But that's probably not the best solution.
