Basic Resources has a separate command from Smash, it is /bres - not /smash!
(commands are separate incase people want to lock or scale one but not the other, or want to run just Basic Resources or just Smash)

Smash is an addon for warriors that simplifies gameplay and maximizes DPS by doing all the decision making for you.
Unlike some other addons, Smash uses an advanced priority list developed by the people over at the SimulationCraft project and improved by myself for ease of use in actual gameplay.
It will calculate which ability would give you the highest DPS during the current combat situation.

The addon is comprised of three icons, left to right they are:

  • The Previously Used Ability icon - Displays the last correct ability you used (to show you that you actually used it before the icon changed, can be disabled)
  • The Best Choice Ability icon - Displays the best ability to use for maximum DPS during the current combat situation
  • The Cooldown Ability icon - Displays when you should use an ability that is off the global cooldown or has a long cooldown (can be disabled)

Other features of Smash includes:
  • Glowing Ability Buttons - Your ability buttons glow when they become the best choice ability
  • Multi-Target Modes - Use keybindings or clicks to switch between single target and 2, 3, or 4+ target modes
  • Know When You Miss - A red border will appear on the previously used icon when your attack misses or gets parried or dodged
  • Moveable, Lockable, and Scalable - Each icon can separately be moved to wherever you like on the screen, then locked or scaled to any size
  • Resource Bars AddOn - No dependencies! Must be enabled within the AddOns menu on the character selection screen

Slash command for Smash user configurable options: /smash

Basic Resources is an included optional addon that displays vital information such as your rage, buff stacks, and global cooldown in a simple and elegant fashion.
It also works on other classes and has additional useful or annoying features.

Slash command for Basic Resources user configurable options: /bres and /cres

F.A.Q.
  • Why is it called Smash?
    ORC SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Where is it? I don't see it!
Both addons hide themselves when you aren't targetting something you're able to attack. Try selecting a training dummy to move it around and such.
  • How do I bind keys to change the amount of enemies?
Look in Game Menu -> Key Bindings -> Other for Smash, you can set bindings there.
  • Can I hide for a specific spec?
You can use /smash hidespec 1 to hide in primary or /smash hidespec 2 to hide in secondary spec.
  • Is there a way to turn the rotation helper off? I only want the rage/gcd/buff stack bars.
As stated above, the resource addon is standalone (no dependencies). Just disable Smash on the addons screen and keep Basic Resources on.
  • Why does it take up so much RAM?
Why are you playing WoW on an Atari! I've never measured it above 120 kB.
  • Can I get this addon for other classes?
Look up Claw if you play a druid.

v6.0.3-16
- Recommend Thunder Clap if using Glyph of Resonating Power in Arms
- Slightly modify Impending Victory usage

v6.0.3-10
- Fix a few minor bugs/typos
- Sync code base with my other addons

v6.0.3-9
- No more disabling cooldown icon, rather just disable cooldowns (icon was used for more than just cooldowns)
- Remove latency feature because it was just too buggy
- Sync framework with my other addons for reduced resource usage

v6.0.3-8
- Create glow frames using a proper non-interfering method rather than using Blizzard functions to solve UI taint completely

v6.0.3-7
- Update to latest Simulationcraft changes
- Don't set glow parent to action button (further attempt to avoid UI taints)

v6.0.3-6
- Attempt to prevent UI taint by not placing it inside buttons but over them

- Incomplete protection support (DPS only mode, Survival comes later..)

v6.0.3-3

v6.0.3-2
- It's better to refresh rend only if less than 5.4 seconds remaining rather than try to keep it ticking through full colossus smash debuff

v6.0.3-1
- Due to whirlwind nerf, delay if mortal strike coming off cooldown in 1 second
- Delay mortal strike if colossus smash off cooldown in 1 second
- Don't use impending victory in fury execute phase

v6.0.3-0
- Fixed divide by zero errors to make compatible with new Lua engine of patch 6.0.3
- Small bug fixes in code base

- Arms APL updated to be more friendly and higher dps (see: https://code.google.com/p/simulationcraft/issues/detail?id=2175 )
- Fix spell ID for Ravager

v6.0.2-14

- Added Meat Cleaver stacks to Basic Resources

v6.0.2-5
- Okay I promise the action button glow is flawless now

v6.0.2-4
- Now with even more reliable less performance hitting button glow!
- Dimmer returns

v6.0.2-3
- Fix glow showing up on empty action buttons (I think)
- Shorten some code, fix some bugs, yada yada

v6.0.2-2
- Remove range checking features as they really are ineffective on large bosses
- Small priority list changes to give more Enrage uptime

I don't have any plans at the moment to make a survival Protection tanking APL. Sorry.

No restriction just a warning text saying the addon will probably fail like crazy for anyone under 90. I don't know when it starts working.
