DejaVu  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.995
by: tride [More]

<<< This addon is no longer maintained >>>

DejaVu (formerly known as DoINoU)

/dv

DejaVu keeps track of all the players you have targeted while playing the game. It shows a list of each time you met with a particular player (where and when), as well as information about the player's guild at this time, his level, your level, and if you were in a party or not. It lets you write notes about each player. DejaVu also gathers statistics about the players: Percentage of each race, class, level, etc.
DejaVu is able to communicate between guild members: Each time you target a player it will check whether one of your (online) guild-mate
likes or dislikes this player.

Simply type "/dv" to open the DejaVu window in game. Disable all chat messages with "/dv silent".

A unique feature of DejaVu is that it lets you vote for players, indicating whether you like them or not. By calling a small program that comes along DéjàVu (the WebBinder), your data is sent to the DéjàVu website, where it is accumulated with others data to score how popular (or disliked) players are. Several other useful information is also extracted from the data (eg. guild popularity, ...).

To install, simpy copy the DejaVu directory in the "World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns" directory, or
run Install.exe

Usage:
------

- Every time a player is targeted, he will be added to the database. The database is different for each of your characters.
Information about the player is displayed in the chat window, unless you set DejaVu to silent mode (/dv silent) or
unless the player is in the same party than you (to avoid spamming the chat with messages).

- Slash commands: /dejavu or /dv

/dv Opens a window listing all known players. Click on a player to have more details.
/dv silent Toggles DejaVu in silent mode: prevents messages form behing displayed in the chat window
/dv playername Displays information about player 'playername' in the chat window
/dv reset Erases the database ! Be carreful, there is no coming back !

Enjoy !

Back again :-)

Again, after a looong time without playing I am back and I updated DejaVu.

Edit2: !NEW! the latest version (v0.99) adds within-guild player reputation sharing. This means DejaVu will tell you whether other players in the guild like or dislike a player you target!!

Edit3: Now available for download!

Enjoy!

Well, the idea with 'DoINoU' was to have something short which, when pronunced aloud would become 'Do I Know You?'. Similar spirit as ICQ and such.

I sort of see your point, even though I would appreciate a more constructive tone. No need to be offending.

Anyway, I had a better name in mind which will solve this issue. The new AddOn name is 'DéjàVu', you can drop the accents and just access the addon by /dejavu or /dv.

If you are a DoINoU user, don't worry, you can import all your prior data using 'Install.exe' which is given in the zip. It does only two things: 1) copying the files 2) converting any existing data. (Of course, I strongly suggest you backup your data before running it).

(edited after addon rename)

The title of your addon is an abomination against the English language.

DoINoU 0.7

After a long, long time without playing, I am back! Which of course means I updated DoINoU

Several things changed in the API and it was broken - even though half-functional. Everything should be back to normal, stats, player notes, etc.

The WebBinder has been drastically improved! So do not forget to vote for players and send your data!! You'll be able to see which guild is the most liked/disliked and which players are the most friendly/evil.

Visit the web site at
http://www.aracknea-core.net/doinou

Enjoy!
Tride.
PS: update is pending - meanwhile you can get the new version from the website.

v0.6

Hi All,

I just uploaded a new version adding per-player notes (and 2.3 compatible). Next thing I will do are filtering criterias both for the tracker and the display.

The DoINoU web site has been completly re-designed as well.

Thanks -
PS: (the file is currently waiting approval)
Edit: (it is now available )

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, I like the idea to let the user configure this => It's in my TODO list

It's a very good question

A 'meeting' occurs when you target a player. So every time you click on someone the meeting will be recorded by DoINoU. This extends to player unit frames in a party. Of course, to avoid producing a large amount of data, DoINoU will only record meetings if there has been some significant change (location, time, level, guild, ...).

In a party, DoINoU will stop displaying information in the main chat to not disturb you. You can also switch to silent mode (no chat messages) with '/dinu silent'.

Finally, do not forget that:
- '/dinu' brings up the main window
- you can vote for players you like/dislike and send your data to the web site!

Thanks for giving it a try
Tride.

DoINoU Web site

I just fixed a bug on the web site which was preventing proper data upload . Don't forget: only players for which you vote will appear on the web site.

Thanks!
