    Mendeleev is best known for his work on the periodic table; arranging the 63 known elements into a Periodic Table based on atomic mass, which he published in Principles of Chemistry in 1869. Dmitri Mendeleev was born at Tobolsk, Siberia in 1834 and died in 1907.

    Mendeleev adds all kinds of information on top of the information provided by Blizzard to almost all item tooltips.

    Eloquence incompatibility /fix?
    I have been attempting to use Eloquence http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=2752&page=25, recently and I have encountered a problem or two with Mendeleev. The following is a dialogue regarding the problem I encountered.

    My initial error report :
    Mendeleev clash.
    This addon clashes with mendeleev http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php... which is a database of where items drop and what they are used for etc. When you click a message in debug mode, or one of the truncated messages, you get an error because the addon is making them into items in a way mendeleev doesn't like (I think). Wierd thing is, I only get it sometimes, but it seems that the following text makes it appear;
    2. [Trade][Bypass]: WTS cloth,leather,mail items /w me for details

    Count: 3
    Error: Interface\AddOns\Mendeleev\Mendeleev.lua:190: Usage: GetItemInfo(itemID|"itemlink")

    It looks like Mendeleev is parsing for the string "item" in text. I think it's trying to find lines that have item links in them. Unfortunately, the string "item" can exist in lines like your example where no item link code is present at all.

    To fix it, change the word in quotes in line 88:
    if (not strfind(link, "item") or IsControlKeyDown() or IsShiftKeyDown()) then return; end

    to:
    if (not strfind(link, "|Hitem") or IsControlKeyDown() or IsShiftKeyDown()) then return; end

    You might also want to advise the author make his criteria a little more stringent like in the above example. That should help minimize false positives.
    The line is 73, rather than 88 as mentioned in his reply, I think.

    should you have a working verions of eloquince or when a working version is uploaded , please update your mendeleev and if the problem persist please contact me again.

    I concur. Eloquence has been removed from my addons, I've got a lot of the functionality of it back from Englishteacher and Chatbox. Thanks for looking into the issue!

    Eh, I didn't find the joke that entertaining. Maybe it was a year ago.

    In fact, when I first saw it (after reviewing comments here to discover that it was intentional), my first instinct was to disable this mod and never use it again. Very unprofessional having that "HUNTER ITEM" phrase pop up distractingly in all tooltips without warning.

    No problem if you want to add a little joke or something else unrelated to the mod's functionality--if its optional and the user knows about it beforehand. Doing it in the way you did was not a good thing.

    No problem if you want to add a little joke or something else unrelated to the mod's functionality--if its optional and the user knows about it beforehand. Doing it in the way you did was not a good thing.
    Very unprofessional Hmm this is a game I thought? Every comment I have seen from this guy on these forums is a complaint. If you don't like it then don't use it. But get over it. It was a joke. I found it funny as heck.

    Heh...no, I have also have provided bug reports (what I primarily do in addition to suggestions). That's what software/mod forums are for: fanboi "this is fantastic!" stuff, bug reports, suggestions for improvement, complaints about features, etc..

    It might have been funny if people were notified of a "joke" being put in for April Fool's, which they were not. To each their own.

    I don't (either here or at ui.worldofwar.net) pointlessly flame people as you have done.

    Speaking of bug reports: upgraded from Mendeleev 0.62 to 0.64 (complete clear out and new write of Mendeleev & Periodic Table files). Did not delete the existing Mendeleev.lua saved variables file.

    Error message that occurs at/soon after logon, mainly mousing over various items on characters/bags/bank: "Error:...\Mendeleev.lua:148: attempt to index global 'Compost' (a nil value)". This pops up on all characters I've logged on after the upgrade when mousing over items. Primarily occurs on items I remember Mendeleev previously giving data for (like Devout Gloves, etc.).

    No Mendeleev data shows up any more for any item (that it did before), just that error message. Back to 0.62, no problems.

    And a suggestion: ZIP up the release with the proper path files to unzip to as most every other mod has. As it is now, have to unzip to the included "Mendeleev 0.x\Mendeleev\" & "Mendeleev 0.x\Periodic Table" paths, then manually move the files. Or else have to manually type in the paths to unzip to. Takes more time than just having the proper paths present in the ZIP.
