xCT  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

xCT is a very lightweight combat text addon (20- 30kb mem usage)


if you don't see any combat text on first use of xCT then go to ESC->Interface->Combat Text and enable things you want to see.


xCT has 4 frames, first for incoming damage/resists/absorbs, second for incoming healing, third for auras/mana/reactive abilities/combopoints and other text info, frame 4 is for damage and healing you deal .
also, xCT has a nice spam merger, so damage from your AOE spell is displayed like 100500 x20 instead of 20 lines of spammy sh*t. Same for healing spells.

You can place the frames as you like, and resize them.

Type /xct unlock to move frames.
Type /xct lock to lock frames on desired position.
Type /xct test to launch sample output.

The configuration section is inside config.lua file.
Read description carefully.
you can configure xCT per-class and per-character inside xCT.lua

config lines a pretty self-descriptive

xCT uses blizzard confuguration of combat text, so if you do not want to see auras or mana gains - disable them in blizzard setings and they'll dissapear.
Blizz CT settings a located in ESC->Interface->Combat Text


if you don't see any combat text on first use of xCT then go to ESC->Interface->Combat Text and enable things you want to see.

Improve a bit, main functionality reached.
Money gains, inventory gains.
boomkin and paladin power gains.
Known issues
You can't choose insert mode, blizzard bug, sorry. Messages will appear from bottom of the frames and go upwards.

hi

Thanks for the addon.

I would like to use is similar to combat log (like "evesdrop" which is very outdated)
To only show my last 20-30 dmg in a list.
I would like to dissable other frames (healing, dmg to me, etc).
Also I would like the list to only disappear as it hit the top of the frame.

I will go trought the lua and see if I can mage to disable the other 3 frams and to make the text not disapear over time but only if it gets to the top of the list.
But if you could also help, I would be greatfull.

As a healer the only thing that I can ask for is to have Outgoing heals added to say the Outgoing damage frame or maybe to get its own frame. (The outgoing damage frame would be fine by me if your ok with that. ) The default blizz is just kinda annoying lol. Also if you could have Icons enabled that would be great, especially with the beta I'm trying to figure out whats the best heals for situations and being able to see what heal is healing for what would be awesome. Ty for the great mod!!!!

Incoming damage

1. In incoming damage frame effects (parry, dodge and another) shows in current locale, how make is shows in en_gb locale for another locale like in outgoing damage frame.

2. Shows in outcoming damage frame Interrupting message.

1) no option, sorry. you can manually change the code.
search for

and replace it with

do not forget the "".
do it for every event type you want.
MISS is localized and will be translated to current locale, "Miss" is straight-forward string)

I really like the fact that you put the customization settings at the top of the LUA file, I wish more authors would do that when there is no GUI configuration.

When xCT is unlocked and the frames are moved, why does it require a UI reload when you lock them again? Not a real issue, I was just wondering.

because the frames position are saved on ui reload.

you can press Cancel btw, and the frames will lock, but positions will remain unsaved until next ui reload.

new version released, it has an option to show custom string (! * !!! CRIT C or any you like) in front of crit. default is *.
