Description
This addon is a dice roller for the Fortuna dice system devised by the guild First Light of Moon Guard. It is also capable of serving as a generic d20 dice roller.
It is capable of sending rolls to the console, say, party chat, raid chat, and to the communication channels created by the Cross RP addon (if installed), so it will be very useful to game masters of cross-faction groups on roleplay servers. (Cross RP is for RP servers only).
User interface
Once installed, the command /fdr will display the window. Alternately, FDR also has LibDataBroker support; it can be added to an LDB display addon like TitanPanel.
The LDB control will toggle the main UI and display the last dice roll in a tooltip when moused over. (Depending on your LDB display addon, you'll either see a blue d10 or the text "FDR").
Usage
The "d20" tab is the default. This is a basic dice roller that is suitable for most variations of tabletop RPGs and many custom guild dice systems. It will roll a specified number of dice and add a specified modifier to that roll, then display the results in the selected output channel. This mode uses standard d20 notation: 2d6 to roll a pair of six-sided dice with no modifier (common in board games) or 5d6+7 to roll five six-sided dice and add a modifier of 7.
Rolls in this mode have a minimum of 1. It is possible to roll dice that can't exist in the real world (e.g. d5).
The Fortuna tab enables special roll rules. This mode is intended for First Light but has no encoded guild restrictions on its use. Roll strings are similar to standard d20 notation, but a difficulty can be specified for automatic efficacy calculation. Some examples (note that, for now, a modifier must always be specified to do a difficulty check; a modifier of 0 is effectively a "naked" roll):
