Hello MonkeyQuest User!

The MonkeyQuest AddOn for World of WarCraft displays quests and their objectives in a nice drag able frame in a very customizable way.
Features:
  • Mousing over quests shows the overview in a tooltip.
  • Option to display the quest overview if there's no objectives.
  • Clicking on quests brings up the real quest log with that quest selected.
  • Displays the quest level in the quest title.
  • Elite quests display a 'E' in the level of the quest.
  • Completed quests show a '(Completed)' in the quest title.
  • Quest area headers are displayed.
  • Clicking on a quest area header collapses or expands it.
  • Check boxes next to quests allow hiding/showing of that quest.
  • Check box to toggle displaying collapsed quest area headers and hidden quests.
  • Close and minimize buttons.
  • Quest objective coloring.
  • Quest objective coloring for special 'friendly/hostile' type objectives.
  • Special quest objective coloring for 'find an area' type objectives.
  • Nice font for increased readability.
  • No additional buttons or options are displayed in the real quest log.
  • Option to always hide quest area headers.
  • New slash command for hiding the border.
  • Key bindings for toggle hidden, minimize, and close.
  • Slash command to change the expand direction, up or down (thanks Diungo)
  • Shift-left clicking on quests to add the quest name to the chat edit box if it's open.
  • Shift-right clicking on quests to add your current quest objective data to the chat edit box if it's open.
  • Option to display the number of free quest slots.
  • Lockable frame.
  • Option to display quest titles colored by difficulty. (thanks Pkp)
  • Option to hide completed quests.
  • Option to hide completed objectives.
  • Ctrl-Left clicking on quests to share that quest with party members.
  • Ctrl-Right clicking on quests to abandon that quest, after a confirmation dialog box.
  • Integration with MonkeyBuddy for configuration.
  • Font size setting.
  • Option to turn off right-click to open MonkeyBuddy.
  • Option to hide the title buttons.
  • Quest Items now show up in tooltips. Mousing over targets you need for quests will show 'Quest Item XX/YY' in the tooltip. Same for items you need for quests.
  • Dungeon quests display a 'd' in the level of the quest.
  • Raid quests display an 'r' in the level of the quest.
  • Party members show up in the quest overview tooltip. If they have that quest they'll be displayed in the 100% objective color.
  • If the current sub-zone name appears in the quest overview, the quest will highlight.

Another Monkey

I don't know if you are working with damagepy, but there is already an existing working version of this addon for classic. https://www.wowinterface.com/downloa...tion.html#info Maybe you two should talk.

I saw that - he has not spoken to me, but since I'm working on it since vanilla I'll keep doing so
I'm glad though that he (even without asking) provided a quick fixed version for classic beta.

I looked into the modifications, most of them are related to new default/style settings he plays with.
There is some useful stuff (like recoloring and QuestLogEx compatibility) that may end up here,
but also some not properly fixed stuff (just commented out) and no mainline compatibility anymore.

Hi there!
Of course you are free to use/copy any modification that I made to your addon if you find them useful
The main thing that I like in my verison is the expanded mouseover tooltip to see the full text and with some custom highlight so I never have to open the questlog and can instantly spot (usually) where to go. And the more distinguished completed quest text (and red if failed with failed text, not localized ofc)
if you can just copy those to your original an maybe add 1-2 extra checkbox for them in the config (to display full quest description in tooltip with highlights, or to color completed/failed quests and add text to the end) then it could stay as it is but those who like the extra information can have the option to enable them.
And then I can just delete my version.
Of course I can delete it even if you dont add these features if you request it

Sounds good, will see if I can get it done before Classic release.

I will second this request. I really hate seeing the Blizzard tracker showing up when I am using yours.
Cheers!

Thumbs up One small request

Thank you, guys, for amazing addon.
Could you please add one small button, that would copy quest text into clipboard. (In quests and NPC dialogs window)
I have a very bad eyesight and cant read them myself. I have a voice engine, that intercepts and reads texts from clipboard. It would be very helpful, thank you!

Hey there,

Any way to get the quest/objectives completed sound working? It seems to not do anything at all.

Yes, I am replying to my own post but that is so it goes to the top to be seen by the author.
I did find a fix that I have tested.
Your code is below with the fix added:
Code:
function MonkeyQuest_OnLoad(self)
	hooksecurefunc("HideUIPanel", MonkeyQuest_Refresh);
	hooksecurefunc(GameTooltip, "SetBagItem", YourSetBagItem);
QuestWatchFrame:Hide() <--this was added to hide the Blizz quest tracking frame.
To those wanting a fast fix before the author get it done, just add the "QuestWatchFrame:Hide()" (without the quotes) to line 26 (otherwise the line below "hooksecurefunc(GameTooltip, "SetBagItem", YourSetBagItem);" for those whose text editor does not have line numbering). Save it and if you are in game, record the game for it to take effect.
Cheers!

Well you can simply disable automatic quest tracking in blizzards interface options.
