RogueMetrics  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 20080401-b
by: kjkrum [More]

RogueMetrics is a personal damage analyzer that breaks down your damage by attack type and provides detailed information about attack results. As the name implies, I wrote it for my rogue. However, it provides useful information for most other classes. (It currently does not record pet or totem damage, and the extra damage estimation does not account for the AP bonus from Windfury.)

UPDATE B: Fixed a major bug in version 20080401 where the player GUID wasn't being initialized on the first login. Oops...

New things and bug fixes in version 20080401:

  • Updated for WoW 2.4 combat log changes
  • Finally got the extra damage estimation right for dual-wielders... (I think)
  • Put files into an appropriately-named folder within the archive
  • Not an April Fool's joke, I swear!
The combat log changes in 2.4 were extensive, so this release basically just brings all the features of the old RogueMetrics up to speed with the new logging system. As the first release after such a major rewrite, this update should be considered 'beta' software. The upside is that the new event schema has made the addon code much simpler and easier to extend, so some cool new features may be added in the next release!

23 Feb 2009: I will probably never release another version of this addon. I wrote it as a means of learning how to write addons. It's basically a minimalist version of Recount. The only thing it does that Recount doesn't do is the extra attack damage estimation...

If you type /rm by itself and it doesn't say "[RogueMetrics]: No data for", then the addon is not installed correctly. Make sure it's in the correct folder and that it's enabled for the toon you're playing.

/rm, no response...

I applied the Roguemetrics addon to my druid...

...I type /rm or /roguemetrics, and I don't get an error message, but I also don't get any output. Same for /rm Auto-Attack or /rm reset or /rm report.

Re: unable to work

None of those are valid slash commands. The correct slash commands are all explained in README.txt.

unable to work

Ok, playing a level 28 rogue and downloaded the addon, it displays no information after a kill and I tried /rm and it says no data for ____ and I tried doing /rm Morcelu name of my character, nothing, /rmoptions nothing...so yea, how do you get the add on to work because as of right now I can't get it to work at all.

Re: Folder?

Yes, I guess they should be. But it doesn't matter what it's named.

Folder?

The files in the zip are supposed to be in a folder, aren't they? Should it be named "RogueMetrics"?
