RuneHUD  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 9.1.2
by: Ereki [More]

RuneHUD is a simple addon that moves the runes of your DK to make them a HUD (Heads Up Display). The runes are click through which means they don't intercept mouse clicks. It also has a minimalistic bar showing your current runic power.

RuneHUD have OmniCC support and will be hidden when in a vehicle!

Access the options using slash commands, either /rh or /runehud brings up an options menu to change the settings.

Winterwind - Helping me beta test and finding all the bugs I created.

9.1.2:
Toc bump for 10.1

9.1.1:
Toc bump for pre-patch phase 2.

9.1:
The options menu is back!

9.0:
Updated to work with patch 10.0, the options has moved back to slash commands as a fix for the updated interface in dragonflight breaking all the old stuff.

8.2.3:
Updated toc version and slightly moved runic power value down to be more centred in the bar.

8.2.2:
Fixed rune 6 default positioning.

8.2.1:
Fixed some alignment issues in the options frame.

8.2:
Added the individual rune positioning as options in game along with the horizontal positioning of the runic power bar. This update requires the game to be restarted to function and will bug if updated while in game with a reload of the UI.

8.1.6:
Changed it so the the runes can be positioned individually instead of in pairs in the config part of RuneHUD.lua

8.1.5:
Some small clean ups and an update to the toc file for 9.0

8.1.4:
A rather late toc-bump to 8.3.

8.1.3:
Small aesthetic updated to the option frame with additional behind the scene updates.

8.1.2:
Update version file for patch 8.1.

8.1.1:
Small bug fixes.

8.1:
Added an option for the entire rune frame's vertical position.

8.0:
Update for 8.0

7.3.7:
Fixed a bug with the options frame if opened by a class other than a DK. Also small optimizations for other classes.

7.3.6:
Updating the toc file for 7.3

7.3.5:
Fixed a bug with the punic power bar not updating max runic power when changing spec.

7.3.4:
Fixing a bug with the runic power bar displaying upon login despite being disabled.

7.3.3:
Bugfix + slight rearrangement of the options window.

7.3.2:
Fixed a bug that happened when leaving a vehicle.

7.3.1:

Updated for Legion!

7.0.2:
Slightly optimized loading sequence and fixed yet another "vehicle thingy" (not really a bug).

7.0.1:
Fixed a bug with the runic power bar not hiding/showing when entering and leaving a vehicle. Also changed so the hiding/showing of the runes and runic power bar to matches the vehicle UI.

7.0:
NEW: Bar showing your current runic power has been added
NEW: A graphical user interface has been added, access it with "/rh" or "/runehud"
Completely reworked the code to be more efficient (and easier to understand as a bonus).

6.2:
Updated the toc-file for 6.2.

6.1:
Undid the fix for the bug with the cooldown spiral since blizzard fixed the bug in 6.1.

The fix to the cooldown spiral will make it look a bit more/less transparent than before depending on the alpha out of combat you use. If you're just using the standard setting it will still look the same though.

6.0.4:
Fixed an issue that could make the runes show up on other classes than Death Knights if you had certain addons installed.

6.0.3
Implemented a fix to show the runeframe when on the mount from garrison stables.

6.0.2
Once again shows the runeframe when in a vehicle if so desired!

6.0.1:
Fixes an issue with the alpha slash commands not updating the alpha before entering or leaving combat.

1.5:
Updated the toc to patch 3.1

1.4:

It pretty much makes RuneHUD not work, it doesn't come up in the addon list in interface.. but if I log out and turn Pitbull 4.0 off it immediatly works.
Ah no never used 4.0 but I will try it after tonights raid and see what I come up with.

Edit:
You'll have to try and talk to them 'cause I can't find anything in the code (which is tbh way to advance for me to get my head around) and ask them if they can fix it or how I can fix it.

Hm, strange. Worked fine for me when I used to use PitBull, but they might have changed some coding. In what way does it interfere?

Great mod, I love it!

Is there any way to move it to another location? I've tried /runehud /ru to bring up a config and that doesn't work for me. I've seen the locations cords coded in the lua but wasn't sure if there was an easier way.

Take care.
No there's not, I'm thinking of doing some slash commands but it will probably take a while before it will happen.

I've been to a lan the last few days so I didn't have time to toc bump it. So the only thing that needs an update is the line which states which version of WoW it's for, the addon it self works just fine with 3.2.

Ok, will try to recreate the bug myself now, and hopefully it will be an easy fix.
Edit:
Should be fixed now, had made a small error in the code. Post here if you experience any other issues with it.

Long time no see..since you fixed RuneHUD for xPerl :-)

Anyway..since then I haven't used any updated versions 'til now..1.7 & I've noticed it being real whacky..

So first I turned the Fade to false..

I also turned the Alpha out of combat from .1 to 0

I haven't pinpointed every scenario when it happens..but one in particular happens consistently..

If I open with say..Chains of Ice..Icy Touch..Death Grip..

The rune used in the ability doesn't show up period on RuneHUD..it's just an empty space in the HUD..

Also it seems if I kill a mob..then attack another target while runes are still on cooldown..those runes don't show up either..ever..'til I'm out of combat & the cooldowns have finished..

It never used to be that way..1.5 was the last I used 'til now..quit for awhile but now I'm back :-)

Still love the addon..I'll help diagnose further if I can be of any use

-Edit

I see the problem..however I don't know anything about addons..the code..any of it..but I was playing more & had an idea..which I suspect will prove useful in diagnosing the underlying cause..

So I set the Alpha Out of Combat to .5..giving the runes a slight fade..when I open with Chains of Ice..Icy Touch..Death Grip..the rune used by the ability stays faded..the same as it did when my out of combat was 0 & I couldn't see it at all..

It seems like the runes aren't registering combat all the time on openers entering combat..so certain icons think they're still out of combat until it's too late..

There are times it all works great..I see all the runes correctly..most of the time it doesn't & is missing some of the rune icons

np and thanks again for making this add on, much better than the default blizzard rune set up.

After playing an arena match I've found that the new feature with runes fading when on cooldown is really bugged, so if you've downloaded it, just use the guide on the addon info page to disable it for now.
I'm very sorry for this and I'll try to solve it as fast as I can.

Edit:
After trying to recreate the bug for almost 4 hours without any luck I'm releasing 1.7 again. If the alpha of the individual runes doesn't update when you're in combat, please post here what you did and possible how to recreate it so I know what to look for.
