Noob question. Is this a plugin for Trinity Bars? Or does this mean Trinity skins to be used for other bar mods that are ButtonFacade compatible? (Like BT4?)

Edit
Doh, I see the plugin now! damn browser refresh! lol

Yes, it is all very confusing!

However, this is a module for Button Facade and yes you can now skin BT4 with Trinity's unique skins.

With the way BF works, the skins have to be loaded into it's own database. So in order for a TB2 user to use BF and have Trinity skins, this module is needed.

But now anything that BF can skin can now have Trinity skins

Edit:
"This file is a Addon for Trinity Bars 2.0 by Maul. You must have that installed before this Addon will work." is not a true staement, FYI

Thank you for the quick reply! I am beginning to understand this button dressing revolution this little addon ButtonFacade is causing now!

Button Facade is taking over!

Hopefully it, and the Trinity skin, will open the gateways and people will no longer use a bar mod based on what skins it has (no offense to Trinity Bars btw!) and now they'll use them because they enjoy the features and how they work!

Just an FYI, Button Facade is currently placing the Border texture in the wrong drawlayer and frame level, so anything that would display a border will not look correct.

If you are willing to fix this yourself, open -

\Interface\Addons\ButtonFacade\LibButtonFacade\LibButtonFacade.lua

and change -

Border = "ARTWORK", to Border = "OVERLAY",

and

Border = 1, to Border = 4,

I miss simple square. The thin lined transparent white border. I think it is the default one for trinity? Can we add that one? The other white square one is a bit "thick" for my UI.

Thank you bunches for sharing these!

Question yeah...

So I know this may sound foolish, but I can't figure out the in-game command to load the addon.

I tried /trinity, /trinitybars, /buttonfacade, /loadtrinity, etc, etc.

What is the command to load the addon for setup?

Should be under your "Addons" tab under the Interface options (esc).

Go to ButtonFacade and choose the skin and if you want the gloss percentage. I think >_<

Hi Maul. I have a question for you.

Specifically for the Hex skin, I'm curious to know how you got the icon so that the corners don't show outside the hex border. Did you make some kind of mask for the icon?

I'm creating my own BF skin that's round. If I make the icon small enough so that the corners aren't peeking out on the outside of the skin, then I get a leak inside the button.

Sorry if I'm rambling, haven't had coffee yet :P

Thanks.

There is no masking of WoW graphics in the sense of traditional graphics editing.

First, I go through pain-staking sizing and resizing until the icon is as large as it can be without peeking out the outside edges. I do this with the button at a scale of 3 (very large )

Second, once I get the icon to the size I want, I see how much of the "squareness" is exposed on the inside of the skin. Once I do that, I created an alpha layer to "blackout" those areas. Again, this can be a pain-staking process to get right.

You can also see this "blackout" alpha layer technique in the round skin of CyCircled/Button Facade, except they do it on the outside of the button. If you look closely, you can see the black ring on the skins. That black ring hides the corners that extend beyond the outside edge of the skin.

I prefer the technique I use (inner black mask/ring) as it gives the buttons a "crisper" look, imho.

Finally an answer! Thank you for the quick reply. I guess I've got some tweaking to do before I release my skin. Of course for my very first skin I pick a round one and not square. But I guess that's good because I learned more doing it the hard way

Thanks again Maul.

This is a skin pack for the addon Button Facade, which can be found on curse.com
