Stuffing  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.0.20
by: hungtar [More]

please accept my apology for abandoning this addon and not answering your support requests.

I don't play wow anymore and thus any request will remain unaswered.

Minimalistic bag addon. It puts all your bags in one and your bank in another frame. A search function is also built-in. The screen shots explain this a lot better

Features:

  • configuration GUI. (Open with /stuffing config)
  • Searching (right-click on the "Search" text. Pressing enter, escape or clicking in the edit or clicking the close button will cancel the search. You can only search for item names).
  • Sorting. (/stuffing sort) *.
  • Filling of incomplete stacks. (/stuffing stack) *.
  • OmniCC support.
  • New: right-click the close button on the bags frame for some shortcuts to slash commands, the keyring and to hide/show the bags container.

* see note below!

If you stumble across any bugs, please leave a comment.

Stuff I will not implement in this addon:
  • filters like cargBags gnomed has. They are either too clumsy or they are too complicated to configure to really do what you want. And I don't like the idea that much anyway.
  • Keyring support. The keyring is great, really. Since there is the keyring, those keys don't pollute bags anymore. And it should stay that way. (Really, why is the keyring a bag? it should be a tab next to mounts and vanity pets ...).

Note on Sorting and Stacking:

By default, these operations will only operate on normal bags. If your bank is open, they will only work on the bank. You can pass an argument string to these commands to modify which bags will be sorted/stacked. The string may contain the commands, seperated by a '/':
  • c: clears the list of bags considered (e.g. remove the default set from it).
  • p: add all profession bags from your bank, if it is open, or all profession bags you carry.
  • <number>: add the bag id <number> to the set.

For example:
  • stuffing sort c/p: will clear the list (remove all bags it would normally sort) and add all the special bags you currently carry (the command /stuffing psort does the same).
  • /stuffing sort c/0,1: sort only the bags with the ids 0 and 1.

actually, i grant everyone a non-exclusive right to do with my addons whatever they like, when i finally decided to stop playing WoW. For me, this was always sort of a given (the sourcecode isn't licensed, so it is public domain). But at the time i added the "abandoned notice" to all my addons, i also replied to anyone, who had asked, that they have (non-exclusive) rights to republish my addons.

I love this addon. My favorite thing about it is the /stuffing sort command.... it really... keeps me sane. XD

I'm curious though, is there a way to have a sort command to use on a guild bank? (assuming you are GM)

This looks like Combuctor, but I haven't used this so I can't say for sure.

Bag toggle

Found a solution for the bag toggle issue I've been having.

To get the addon to close the bag when I press 'b' a second time, there are two options:

* bind the 'b' key to "toggle backpack"
* modify Stuffing.lua as follows (bind 'b' key to "Open All Bags"):
line 1208 - OpenAllBags = Stuffing_Toggle
line 1210 - -- CloseAllBags = Stuffing_Close

I'm not sure if that's a bug or just odd design...I'm leaning towards the former.

Re: New bags and Bank bags

to equip new bags , right click on the "x" that closes your bags , from the drop down select show bags , then drop your new bag onto an empty slot like you do with the normal interface

to find the price of your next bank bag slot, in the chat text input box type -:

Code:
/stuffing purchase
to buy bank bag slots type -:

Code:
/stuffing purchase yes

I did disable it to buy two slots, equipped bags and filled em. When I enabled the addon again I could see the bags above the bank pane, but the contents of the bags ain't visible, and if I try to open the bags in the bank, the bank pane closes.

[Edit]
Got the bag issue to work after restarting WoW, reloading the UI didn't work for me. Would be nice to be able to buy new slots without disabling the addon though.

Reverse Sorting

While looking over at the Tukui forums I found a quick fix to get Stuffing to do a reverse sort ^^

Go to Stuffing.lua and look at line 1492:
Code:
-- for each button we want to sort, get a destination button
	--local st_idx = 1
	--local dbag = bs[st_idx]
	--local dslot = 1
	--local max_dslot = GetContainerNumSlots(dbag)

	--for i, v in ipairs (st) do
		--v.dbag = dbag
		--v.dslot = dslot
		--v.dstSlot = self:SlotNew(dbag, dslot)

		--dslot = dslot + 1

		--if dslot > max_dslot then
			--dslot = 1

			--while true do
				--st_idx = st_idx + 1

				--if st_idx > #bs then
					--break
				--end

				--dbag = bs[st_idx]

				--if Stuffing:BagType(dbag) == ST_NORMAL or dbag > 4 then
					--break
				--end
			--end

			--max_dslot = GetContainerNumSlots(dbag)
		--end
	--end
Change that to:
Code:
-- for each button we want to sort, get a destination button
	local st_idx = #bs
	local dbag = bs[st_idx]
	local dslot = GetContainerNumSlots(dbag)

	for i, v in ipairs (st) do
		v.dbag = dbag
		v.dslot = dslot
		v.dstSlot = self:SlotNew(dbag, dslot)

		dslot = dslot - 1

		if dslot == 0 then
			while true do
				st_idx = st_idx - 1

				if st_idx < 0 then
					break
				end

				dbag = bs[st_idx]

				if Stuffing:BagType(dbag) == ST_NORMAL or dbag < 1 then
					break
				end
			end

			dslot = GetContainerNumSlots(dbag)
		end
	end
This is thanks to Foof who posted this originally ^^

Hey there, I absolutely adore this addon, it's perfect for minimal-style bags. I've messed with the Lua and got almost everything exactly how I want, but there are still some things which I can't figure out. They are all pretty small things, but they would finish the bags off nicely:

- Fine-tune the positioning of the count text: specifically, move it more to the right so that it's neater.
- Reduce the size of the space from the top row to the top of the frame (I have configured this area to remove the "Search" text and close button, so there is a lot of wasted space).
- Allow the skinning of the items to also apply to the bag icons above the bag frame, possibly make those icons smaller and move the whole thing down one pixel (so it is just one pixel away from the bags frame).

Sorry if these sound really stupid, but if you could get any of them done at all for me, I would be very thankful.

Edit: Also, sort of annoyingly, all the quality borders seem to have disappeared. Can't remember when or what might have caused it, I'm afraid. I tried using oGlow but that also doesn't give any quality borders.
