Achieved!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.4
by: Tuhljin [More]

Achieved! allows you to customize the position and scale (size) of the achievement alert frames you see when you earn an achievement and dungeon completion alert frames (new with v0.4), as well as change how long those alerts remain on the screen. This is especially useful for players who have customized their UIs in such a way that the alerts would otherwise block important elements of the interface.

Achieved! aims to be light-weight and easy-to-use. Type /achd or /achieved in-game for instructions. See the screenshot for an idea of what it's capable of doing.

The change log lists changes of particular note to users, not every change made.

v0.4
- Updated for WoW 3.3.
- The dungeon completion alert frame is now supported.

v0.3
- Updated for WoW 3.1.
- You can now change how many seconds alert frames remain on the screen after fading in ("/achd time <#>").
- Added Korean localization.

v0.2
- Fixed an error that occurred when attempting to drag the alert frames with the Korean client (and perhaps others).

v0.1
- Initial release.

Cool was wondering if there was such an addon going to check this out as it is rather annoying the achievement announce thing covers up some of my ui!

Just a quick hint, instead of commenting every single line in TjDragit.lua, you can comment the block you want by doing:
Code:
--[[Your
commented
block
goes
here]]

DoStuff()
It's nothing serious and such, just i thought that it could save you some time in the future

I appreciate the thought, but I know about that. Problem is, that only works when there aren't any "]]"s inside the comment, which in my API descriptions there frequently are (multiple optional arguments, y'see), and the TjDragIt library isn't an exception, so I just habitually comment out the whole thing much of the time. Thanks, though. And feel free to use the library in your own projects, if you like; just let me know about it and keep the file as is.

An odd place for an error. All that line does is change the text of a label. Let's find out if this is due to an addon conflict. Does it work fine if you have your other addons disabled? If so, could you use the process of elimination to let me know where the conflict is coming from? If it still doesn't work, then I'd probably have to get my hands on the Lua used for the Korean client to figure out what the difference is.

Liking it so far, but I am experiencing a bit of an issue. When I move my achievement alert frames they don't stay where I put them. I use "/achd drag" and move them to my desired location and then right-click, but when I log they move back to the original location.

GrissomXIX:
Does the problem occur when you're switching between characters or when you log in with the same character? Achieved! saves its position data on a per character basis, but it uses a simple "default profile" system, where if you log in on a character that the addon hasn't "seen" yet, that character's position data will be set to match the default profile. To save the default profile, you have to use the "/achd save" command (after positioning things how you like them). Use "/achd load" to load the profile if it wasn't done for you upon log in.

Same character, log out...log in, back in the original position.

I'm unable to duplicate this issue. I disabled all addons except Achieved! and deleted all my saved variables files for the addon, logged in, set the position with /achd drag and a right click, logged out, logged back in, and the achievements were still in the same position when I tried /achd drag. I also did the same thing except in place of the second /achd drag I ran a test script to force the achievements to show up as if I earned something. Try disabling your other addons and see if it works then, and if so, use the process of elimination to find out where the conflict lies. Either way, please open a new ticket here.

when typing /achd drag 2 achievement alerts pop up, but not in the fashion of those in your screenshot. instead of "achievement frame 1 &2" and "drag to move" the title and description are "to all the squirrels i loved before" and "world explorer". i also can NOT move these frames, no matter what i do. after 3 seconds, the frames fade out as normal ach.frames use to do. what can i do to fix this?

Same here, looks like the new patch broke it.
