Mini-Targ

Mini-Targ is simply a 3D model frame of your target that shows various target info above it. This is primarily in development for a Custom UI which I hope to soon be releasing. Mini-Targ was originally built off of the code for Mini-Me which was developed by CHiLLz yet has recieved alot of modification. I have tried to contact CHiLLz to see if I could either take over the Mini-Me project or incorporate my custom Mini-Me changes into a release to work hand in hand with Mini-Targ, I have yet to recieve a response.

Further documentation and development notes will be written on WowWiki where I will give you some tips on customizing Mini-Targ for your UI as well as post news about my upcoming UI compilation.

New Features:
---------------------------------
Version 3.3RC
- Rotation button now saves the value you set it between targets, just keep clicking the left rotation button
- The close up will stay until some status of the target changes (HP, MP, PVP, etc)
- StatusBar Module has been created and applied (may still bug)

Current Features:

- Shows a 3d Model of your target - the model can be toggled off and on for minimalist's view simply right click on the info box
- Shows info on target (Level, curHP/HPmax, curMP/MPmax, elite/rare/boss, pvp, and friend/foe)
- Draggable and movable
- Transparent background so it can easily fit into almost any UI
- If you have no target it disappears
- PvP flag colored according to enemy status (green friendly, red enemy)
- 3D model has an option to zoom in for a close up with one click
- Shows Guild info if target is a player including rank within the guild
- Target info colored based on friendliness
- Race and Class now shown on target if they are a player

Planned Features:

- Status bars - currently in post production and being fine tuned added in ver 3.3 via Module "Mini-Targ Status Bars"
- Casting bar
- Option for colored background/no bg/colored bg according to hp or dur
- Scrolling scalability
- color model based on remaining HP or durability or enrage etc,
- changing various ascpets of model depending on target status (may include colors, scale, alpha, etc)
- mouse rotation on model
- User options and preferences at default
- faction affiliation and profession on npcs
- UnitFrame functionality


Eventually this will also be ported to another addon that includes a player model that acts the same way to make a 3D HUD and then development will continue to custom UI, Currently the player model version works just as this does, I just need to package them together into one addon.

So there is no queestion on validaty I have authorized and uploaded this addon to WoWMatrix, yet you will find the latest release here.

A UI Design I put together in a matter of seconds with my Compilation, this UI includes Mini-Targ with Status Bar Module and Pitbull Unit Frame . . . as I said a few seconds to throw this together.


This UI design I spent a little more time on for my 80 Hunter, I'm hoping to release the whole UI soon. It comes with Mini-Targ included on a PitBull Unit Frame but without the Status Bar Module

- rotation button makes model go all the way around now, full face will stay full face till something on the target updates, be it hp, mp, etc. then it returns to your saved rotation value

- Added two buttons at the bottom of the target model, right one will zoom in to a closeup and turn the model to the right while the left button will return it to front facing, targeting another target will show the model back at the original (slightly left facing) position.

- Added Race and Class to player Targets
- TargetInfo now shows the right color for the targets starting friendliness to you. Those that are neutral to you will now show yellow, will not change to red when attacking (working on this one)

- Fixed bug that was making elite show up on all targets after an elite was previously targeted
- Colored the Target Info according to friendliness, only shows green or red, neutral considered friend
- Turned the model to the left a little bit as a temporary solution to a requested feature as requested on WoWI by Darkmoone

- Stretched out the info frame, so high numbers of HP or MP don't overlap (temporary fix till new method developed)

- Changed layout so Info frame is now on top of model, this is to allow HUD display at the bottom of Interface. Will be a user adjustable in future release
- Added some Target Info to Info frame, (HP/MaxHP, MP/MaxMP, Classification(elite,rare,trivial), PvP(green if ally, red if enemy)

- Changed tooltip to try to be less obtrusive

It's nothing more than a simple Art MOd, the one that I used is called ViewportArt and comes with lots of skins for it and can be found here on WoWInterface

it even allows you to modify the play area so your interface can be larger or smaller than what you thought possible.

At the bottom of one of the screenshots there is a bar across the bottom and it has ice on it or something. It serves no purpose other than to look pretty. What is it called? I want it.

I just moved into my new place, got my isp back up and running, next is to get my servers up and running and my WoW account active again and I'll fixe the error for the new patch.

Thanks alot for your comments, I thought for the longest time I was gonna be the only one to use it, but especially with the future updates I plan to it, it should be able to replace the player and target unit frames complete with all clickable features.

Btw when you download the addon it unzips into a folder like all addons do but if you open that folder it has Another folder. So you have to put the 2nd folder (the folder inside of the original folder) otherwise it doesnt realize its an addon and wont show up in the addons list at the character select screen. Its nothing big I just wanted to let ya know in case it is something important.
This is fixed in the new update 3.2.2, thanks for the heads up, finally got the packaging worked out

That is actually planned for an upcoming release, I plan to put in scrolling scalability as well as being able to turn their positions, I have even considered using the actual targets position, so if he is facing away from you, you would see his back, will give a better indication in busy fights which way the target is facing.

maybe a option to use one or the other facing features, user option

but yes, it is planned

Also I want to let everyone know that some of the larger targets won't show up right until I get the auto scale to frame working

Latest version (3.2) I started from the original and reworked it a bit, has a small amount of garbage code in it which I will comment out next build but this version should work with no errors, got rid of the pesky "nil" error and succesfully worked this out as a standalone so Mini-Me is not required, although it never was really required but was enhanced by, but until I hear from Chillz it must be a standalone, but should work and not error, if something pops up let me know

ok thought ver 3.1.2 would fix it but apperantly not, I'll get a new one updated tonuight that will fix it

Ok, I do know why it is erroring . . . in its current form this is looking for my modified Mini-Me addon, I'll pull that stuff out, and upload a new one . . . as far as working with the german client, it should but I haven't tested. Keep a look out for an update to fix your problem, if you cannot see the model, right click on the target's name in the top of the frame while you have a target and it should show, the global error will be gone once I take Mini-Me out, sorry bout that

problem

i just dowloadet it, i searched long for this, first of all thanks!

but, it doesn't show me the frame, just the gold, silver, copper coins.
