Better Vendor Price  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v1.19.07
by: MooreaTv [More]

Better Vendor Price WoW Classic and BfA

Shows per individual, current stack and full stack prices.
(ie also shows the sell price per unit)

Works anywhere including bags, vendors, item links in chat and the Auction House.

Can now also optionally show "Auction House DataBase (AHDB)" pricing info

Why is it useful ?

Sometimes the regular vendor price isn't enough to decide what to keep and what to discard:

For instance imagine you have 4 something that sell for 12s and 2 of something else for for 8s and both are dropping right now

Well assuming they both stack in 5 max, you should get rid of the 4 as you can get 20s from that slot with the other item (vs 15s for the other)

But if one stacks in 20 and the other in 5 or 10, the calculation changes !

Unless you are a math wiz and can do all that in your head (and if you know the stacking size), you can use this addon to guide you! (and if a math wiz, it'll tell you the stacking size too)

Other info

Works for both BfA and WoW Classic (where it's even more useful given lack of default vendor price)

Get the binary release using curse/twitch client or on wowinterface

While I don't play WoW anymore (my computer burned out and I haven't been able to replace it), I was curious as to how you keep the prices updated?

The wow api provides the stack size and the unit price, it's just a matter of multiplying and presenting it on the game tooltip. That's the beauty of it, no database to be kept in sync.

It looks like it is adding auction house pricing to the tooltip. That is why I was curious.

Maybe I should clarify: it is adding vendor prices information to auction house tooltips, so you can know for instance if something is lower than or near vendor price

I see. Thank you for explaining.

So the current order is from lowest (unit price) to highest (full stack price), with the idea that if you're still grinding you will probably reach that full stack price - and if your bags are full you may use that last price as the one to decide which bag slot to destroy

Also note that I don't suppress the actual vendor price when you open the vendor (which then will be the first price listed)

All this being said I can possibly add an option to change the order, if you still feel strongly about it ?

option to detect cheapest item

Hey,

I like very much the option in the 'Vendor Price' add-on to detect the:
  • cheapest item/unit
  • cheapest stacked
  • cheapest at full stack

could you check the code and see if you can implement that very useful* feature?
* you know when you run that dungeon and you have to keep up while no one wait for your mana regen and then you have to drop some stuff off your bags ..

+1

The ctrl click red highlight cheapest item in bag, for cleaning bags up, would be very nice to have!

+1 from me as well! At the low level Classic toons are at now, bag space is at a premium and this feature in the "other" addon is keeping me from replacing it with this one.

current items on the buttom of the tooltip :o

would it be possible for the information about the items you currently have to be on the buttom of the tooltip? in my personal opinion this would be much more intuitive to look at. it always confused me to see the price for the full stack instead of what I currently have

I think some windows filesystems might not like the forward slashes in paths (in the .toc)

Which one though ?

Let's say you're in some zone and your bags are full and something drop... and maybe you have a partial stack that _right now_ is worth less than some other item but if the item is dropping will be worth more... which one do you want to highlight? it depends on what happens next/if it's (still) dropping

That's why this addon so far doesn't try to make decisions for you but instead present you with the info to make such decision

But if there is an idea on how to solve ^ I'd be happy to do it

great addon, it really helps when in the middle of a dungen and i need to prio which trash to keep and make stacks of quickly
one thing i would want from this addon is the option to use it with a modifier like alt so i can read tooltips without 3 extra lines of text on at all times
