GearScore™ Lite is currently discontinued.

GeaerScore™/PlayerScore™ 4.5.00+ Has the option to run the addon in "Lite Mode" or in "Full Mode"!

3x04: Fixed a bug with GS above 6000. GearScore will now be reduced on enchant-able items missing enchantments. Because this is the lite version it cant determine if the enchantment is useful or not, only rather or not it exists. And remember, the game API always returns empty gems from the server so I cant detect empty gems in the lite version.

303: Fixed a bug where you couldn't use "/gs" because I had a lowercase 'y' instead of a "Y".
302: Fixed a bug when clicking on itemlinks/playerlinks in chat log.

Hey, first off I love the addon, but it seems as Cata progresses people are now using iLevel over gearscore.

Is there any way to turn off gearscore and just show itemlevel? I've looked for addons that do just that, but this is the only one I can seem to find that does both.

If you were to make a new GSLite, could you make one that, upon inspection, has a normal inspection frame with only the GS number added to it? My current grief with normal GS is that there is entirely too much going on, and it takes quite a while to "load" the person's character screen, when sometimes all I want to do is find out what that interesting-looking staff is.

Kind of, It cannot instantly calculate on mouseover, its too demanding on performance to do that on mouseover, and the server cannot give the client that much information quick enough to make this viable.

You can however, download from my severs an daily compiled GearScore listing for your entire server (Alliance and Horde), The entire database file is less then 256kb, so unless your still running on a windows XP machine, this is very light on system requirements and you will know everyone's GearScore. I'm working on a program that will auto-download and update your server's data on a daily basis.

Anyways, once you know the person's GearScore it will appear on the tooltip.

The truth of the matter is that GSL is a part of the problem. It is one of the reasons I haven't gone into creating gem/talent scores as base scores, because then GSL wouldn't work.

GS 4.0 solves this issue by become light itself. GS 4.0 has the option to bulk itself up to a "Super-version" with a database of everyone on the server and communications enabled, but this super-version is an addition to the core addon and entirely optional.

So in reality GS 4.0 is the "lite' version, and the expand version is the full version. GS 4.0 requires no CPU time other then when you manually execute an inspection of a player is used. And once the inspection is complete any variables used to create the information are dropped and garbage collected.

The addon currently is only using 135kb of memory. This is much smaller then many other addons out there.

Finally, with GS updating the scoring system, GSL causes issues of confusion and other problems.

You mean an addon which sizes 173 Kb is as lite as another which sizes only 7 Kb?

Yeah i know, but like me, there are ppl that much prefer the lite version over default, just cause of all the "unnecessary" options and just want the most "necessary" info

Lol. I meant that it only showed "Epeen" and no numbers(score). Anyway, I found another way to fix it by just changing the number location in the paper doll frame. Thanks! (Still hoping for an update soon though!)
