World of Enhanced Warcraft ENB  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.1b
by: Rammoth [More]

Please Read The Entire Description

NOTE: The screenshots do not do it justice, you have to see it in game for yourself. Most of the noticable features won't show up in screenshots, I'm not sure why yet.

WHAT IS ENB:
ENBSeries is a graphic modifications project for games. The main idea is to allow every gamer to configure how their game will look with their own style, so every player could share settings with others. Many games may look much better and ENBSeries is the easiest way to improve them.

This particular ENB is a modification of the GTA4 ENB from the main website, the URL is located below.

FEATURES:
1) No game specific tools needed.
2) Small size of the modification.
3) Easy to install and uninstall.
4) No problems with banning in multiplayer games.
5) Easy to share configurations with others.
6) Controlled quality for optimal performance on your hardware.
7) Other graphical modifications can be used together with ENBSeries, with exceptions within common sense and LUA.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY:
If you have low FPS even though your pc should be able to handle it, try SHIFT+F10 which will optimize the features to best support your FPS, after activating the mod using SHIFT+F12. SHIFT+F9 enables or disables the bloom.

FUNCTIONALITY UPDATE:
You can now re-map the keys needed to turn on and off settings, and you can now limit your FPS via the enbseres.ini file.

Under [INPUT] in the "enbseries.ini" file you will find the following:

You can use these lines in the file to change to your desired keys to use. "f12, f11, f10 and f9" are set by default. Just replace with your choice.

//f12
KeyUseEffect=123
//f11
KeyBloom=120
//f10
KeyOcclusion=121
//f9
KeyFPSLimit=36
To set exactly what you want your FPS to be limited to, use the following line under the section [LIMITER]:

Change 60.0 to anything you want, but make sure .0 is after it.

FPSLimit=60.0
If you prefer not to be activating the mod every time you load up World of Warcraft, or re-activate it every time you alt-tab and come back to the game, then use the following:

1) Open up "enbseries.ini" with Notepad or your favorite Text Editor software.
2) Locate the section called [Global], either by skimming or pressing Cntrl+F to search (if using Notepad)
3) You should see a line under the [Global] section as the following:

UseEffect=0
Change it to this:

UseEffect=1
Now you should have it load automatically, no more having to press and hold SHIFT and F12 to activate the mod now. The ability to do that will still be in the main files by default though, because some people might prefer to activate it manually.

If enough people decide they rather not have the manual activation anymore, I will remove it entirely, and update the files.

Thanks to Haleth for the screenshots using the Windows Screen Capture Tool:

-BEFORE-

-AFTER-

INSTALLATION:

1) Extract all of the files from the .ZIP archive into your World of Warcraft Main Directory (where the game launcher is located).

2) Run the game.

3) Press and hold SHIFT and F12, to activate the ENB. *You might want to change your screenshot button to the Print Screen button - by default World of Warcraft is set to use F12 for screenshots*

4) If it didn't activate, make sure DX9 is set (not DX11), close the client, reopen the launcher and try again.

ISSUES:
This ENB does not currently work with DirectX 11, or the 64bit Client of World of Warcraft.

Use only with 32bit client and DirectX9 (changed in the in game options settings) for now, until I've updated this.

FUTURE:

If you're experienced with coding, contact me.

If you're experienced with making great videos on Youtube, please contact me. I am looking to make a Youtube video showcasing this mod.

Recommendations:
I recommend you use a clean user interface addon for World of Warcraft, with this ENB. For example, my favorite UI: Free UI - http://www.wowinterface.com/download...92-FreeUI.html

FINAL NOTE:

This is a continuous project. I will work on it until I cannot anymore, and when that time comes, I will give permission to the community to handle it.

Worried about getting banned?

ENB is a graphic enhancement mod, not a graphic alteration mod and it's not a software, there for, it is not going to get you banned, read this:
Jay Wilson, Blizzard Entertainment Game Director: TOS against mods is so we can ban cheaters. I agree DarkD3 is not a cheat...yet. As long as it is not a cheat, no ban is likely.
SOURCE: https://twitter.com/angryrobotics/st...26183740686336

NOTE: It does speak of DarkD3 for Diablo III, however ENB is similar in some ways, so it seems fitting.

Oh yes it is legal actually. I contacted Blizzard about it specifically, and they said that it's not against any LUA or anything, and you won't get banned (which it says on the main page here). So I wouldn't worry too much about it, you won't get into any problems like that. I hope you like it.

I am still working on it, so there will be changes eventually. But I'm trying to get the best possible look I can. Also, users are more than welcome to tweak the settings in the enbseries.ini file that comes with it, and come up with their own look, and re-upload as theirs, as long as I have credit for original "Modification" and the original author and his link to his site, are included in the description. That is all that is requested.

Is it possible you could quote there email back to you saying so? Just don't want a .1% chance of getting a black mark or anything like that

Unfortunately, I do not have an email. I contacted them via Phone, and they told me. You can call them and request if you want.

However, I guarantee you won't get banned, and you won't get into any kind of trouble using this. If you do, blame it on me. I'm positive it won't happen.

I wish I had some written documentation from Blizzard saying so, but I don't.

How do I know when this mod is activated? I really can't see much of a difference and I don't know if the buttons toggling it are doing anything.

Is there a sort of onscreen message telling you when it activates?

Edit: Running 32 bit fixed it - doesn't seem to work with 64 bit.

First, drop the files into your folder, then run the game, when you're at the login screen, pres SHIFT down, and hold it, then press F12. You should see a bit of a darker color scheme on WoW, due to shaders and SSAO in the enbseries.ini file. That is the indicator that it's on and working. I have not figured out a way to make it say that it's on.

Before you do any of that though, at the login screen, if you see ENBseries text up on the top left of the screen showing up, and then goes away, then you know you installed it correctly. If you do not see that, then you didn't install it correctly.

NOTE: Do not put those files in your Interface/Addons folders, they belong in the main directory of which you installed World of Warcraft, where the Blizzard Launcher is located.

I think I see a difference, though I run on low settings because I have a bottleneck CPU.

Right so I just put ultra settings on to take a screenshot because a SS is not gonna show my 7fps :P

Wouldnt just let me insert an image...

So I have no idea what the game usually looks at on ultra settings, so if somebody could compare your normal ultra settings to the modified ultra settings that would be great

Blizzard has made 2 posts reguarding using this type of software to change the graphics. Both were on Twitter by Jay Wilson.

10:30am quote.

Follow by an update at 1:15pm. (2 hours later, same day).

using programs that alter graphics is against TOS and can get you banned.

Source: http://twitter.com/angryrobotics/sta...05207039578113

So this is clearly bannable, but it seems highly unlikely anyone would get banned for using it. Basically, since its not a cheat "yet", they are not checking for these types of alterations with Warden, thus you cant get banned.

These comments from Jay Wilson were directed at people using Dark D3 (graphics alteration for D3), which is pretty much exactly what this is doing for WoW.

Actually it's not the same as that. Boris, the creator of ENB modifications originally had stated that it uses code to enhance things where DarkD3 doesn't. DarkD3 is similar in some ways, but it's not exactly the same. In fact, DarkD3 uses a lot of fake work arounds to give you the same results that ENB does, except ENB uses proper code to enhance your visual settings without work arounds.

Blizzard has stated to me that it's not officially accepted, but not officially banned either, so you can use ENB's, and you will never be banned. Boris the creator of ENB's, said that he will never support configurations that break any LUA or cause anyone to get banned in MMORPGs, and he said he will do all the enforcing needed to shut down the project if it were.

So I don't think you have to worry, but thank you for the quotes. I'll put them on the main page.

By the way, these add graphics, it does not alter anything in the game itself. It just adds them. A lot of addons do the same thing, hints why they're called addons. Also, it is not a program, or software of any kind, it is 2 files. Most addons use more than that. So technically, this is a Addon, and is accepted.

Yes, there is a subtle difference on low settings, however, it's not showing in your screenshot, and it won't. I haven't figured out yet how to make it show up in screenshots. But it will show up in vidoes, if someone would like to make a video for this project, I'd very much appreciate it, as I'm not sure how to make videos just yet.

Thought, I hope that someone makes a video using FreeUI from WoWInterface here. It's my favorite UI as of right now, and I recommend it with this ENB. But of course, there is no requirement other than to have World of Warcraft installed, to use this ENB, so you can use whatever you want. But I'm hoping for a video with FreeUI and my ENB showcased.

Nope, it does not alter the MPQ in anyway. It has 2 separate files that add visual quality, it doesn't change anything that's already there by default without it.

Sorry!

Ok, I'm sorry for scaring people away.
I think I understand now that this mod is safe and really have known achievements.
It was just my misunderstanding. I deleted my comment below.
It is unlucky that I'm using MacOS and cannot try it myself.

There is no way you know what you're talking about. It wouldn't have been accepted when I uploaded it, if it was a virus, or any kind of keylogger. Stop trying to scare people away from an honest project to enhance graphics just because you're paranoid. Just stop.

This has no keyloggers or viruses, and it will not award me access to your account, so stop being paranoid, and just try it for yourself. It wouldn't be on this site if it was malicious in anyway.
