Warning
if you depend on item scaling and spacing between items do not upgrade and use version 3.6a instead, this update is not necessary if the previous version (3.6a) is working fine on your computer.

Installation

You install this AddOn like any other, just unpack the downloaded zip into your /Interface/AddOns folder.

Summary
Hello and welcome back to another helpful AddOn which will improves your daily shopping-adventures with merchants.

Okay what did this AddOn do to your merchantframe ? It replaces the paged item display with a scrollable and more informative list which can also be filtered by available item types. It use the same purchase protection like the default merchantframe when buying an item which requires honor-,arena-points or specific items.

Features

  • Filter: you can filter items from a vendor out. You can setup a filter to show only trainable, usable, purchasable items or just items from a specific type (or subtype)
  • Searchcraft: you can search item descriptions for certain a or multiple (seperated by an colon ;) keywords and filter those out which does not include your keywords
  • Scrollable List: you can now scroll through the merchant shop instead of the paged view
  • Autorepair: as a request you can now check a button on a merchant frame to enable autorepair.

v3.4.0a

At the vendors in Wintergrasp with the stone keeper currency, currency column doesn't appear inside the merchant frame and does not scroll.

Instead it shows as a separate frame that stays on screen even after closing the merchant frame.

Reverted back to previous version for now.

I am currently reviewing the Code to find better solutions and also to fix some functions ( e.g. filter + find dialog does not work together anymore)

As this AddOn use the same code and behavoir as the default MerchantFrame it will display the split-stack frame on shift-left and shift-right click. And you know that you can only buy max. one stack per time? To buy more than one stack please consider this addon : http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a.../bulk_buy.aspx ( i haven't tested it by myself but BuyEmAll is RIP)

I use none of those and still can't grab more than one stack at a time.

I'll do a binary search on my addons. When I come up with the culprit i'll post it here and on that addons site about the compatibility issue. Possible culprits that I use would be StealYourCarbon, Broker_GarbageFu and Attrition. Only ones I can think of off the top of my head that interact with merchants.

it is definitely possible to shift-click / shift-rightclick on these Buttons to buy multiple stacks, maybe you use an outdated version or an AddOn which interferse?

ah sorry, the GetOpt is the configuration interface (which handels the /improveMerchant slash command)

@Ookami.kun if there were an interface provided by Recipe Book to check an item if it is usable/trainable by an alt so I would definitly implement such function.

@antisocialink in v3.1 use /improvedmerchant v <value> to set a vertical distance between those items

I was wondering if functionality could be added through a slash command to increase the vertical distance between the listings. Its a trivial gripe but I would appreciate it.

First off I want to say that your mod is great and makes things a lot easier to view.

Secondly, I like to make a request to possibly add support for Recipe Book to Improved Merchant. When I go to buy new patterns for my professions I'm used to having the merchant UI color coding which patterns I already own or one of my other characters own which is one of the features of Recipe Book, but with IM enabled there is no color coding so I'm assuming RB needs to be supported to work right. I plan to make this same request with the RB author too just in case, but either way keep up the good work.
