Dominos  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 11.0.4
by: Tuller [More]

Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:

  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:
  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show, and at what opacity.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Masque support
  • LibKeyBound support
  • Sticky frames (FlyPaper)
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Configurable Possess/Override/Vehicle Bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:
  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:
  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.
  • Hold down alt while moving a bar to disable sticky bars

...and this is why I wrote it:
  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.

You can use the following to add extra functionality:
  • tullaRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • Masque - Allows you to change the look of buttons
  • AdiButtonAuras - Adds buff and debuff highlighting + duration text

Menu bar disappears when I change specs

Hi there dont know if anyone else is having this issue but when I change specs my menu bar disappears and the default experience bar appears. It rights itself when I log out and in again but I wonder if there is a fix for this coming so I dont have to log out of the game everytime I switch specs =)

Finally got the update installed and my totem bars are working.

the trick with the totem bar is that I don't have a shaman, at all, so it will be tricker to test/debug.

Hehe. Thank you, your effort will definitely be appreciated by Shaman users. :]

It might be easiest to just add a drop-down option to the Totem bar right-click menu (in /dom config mode) along the lines of "Extend totem selection: [left, right, up, down]". That way, the user can just look at their bar and go "Well, this is a vertical bar, so I'll have the menu extend to the left". Just to save you the trouble of trying to make Dominos "guess" how it should look. :]

... ofc knowing the API that idea is probably 10x more complicated than it sounds and would not simplify anything. :P

Tuller, that's... not really what I was saying.

I know you implemented the totem bar & I've been using it on 3.2 PTR since Dominos is my actionbar UI.

What I'm asking is if you're going to implement the feature of Blizzard's default UI bar, that yours is missing: namely, you can click on an element's slot and a little pop-up column appears with all the available totems of that element. Then, you click the totem and it sets it as the totem for that element that will drop when you use the associated Call.

Your bar is essentially just an extra action bar with Call of XXX and Totemic Recall glued to it. It's missing the pop-up totem selection menu. Even the Blizz default UI has this, and it's really useful for swapping out which totems you're dropping in the set.

Not sure if that has anything to do with stuff on my end.

The new totem bar controls are very nice and seem to be working fine. :]

But (lol) the Blizzard default UI for the totem bar features a pop-out menu that appears when you click each totem "slot" (Fire,Water,Air,Earth). This menu contains a vertical list of all the totems of that type that exist in your spellbook. Clicking on a totem in the pop-out menu sets it as that element's totem.

In other words, as an abstract example, this is your default UI totem bar:
[A] [.B] [C] [D]

Clicking on "B" produces a menu akin to:
[.B]---[B_totem1, B_totem2, B_totem3, B_totem4, B_totem5]

And clicking on "B_totem2" means that it will drop that totem for element "B" every time you use Call of Alphanumerics.

This is actually a lot more useful than it sounds, since different elements are scattered haphazardly throughout your spellbook and having each category consolidated into an easy menu speeds things up. I believe this is the idea behind most dedicated totem bar addons, as well.

Anyway. Would it be feasible to preserve that feature inside Dominos as well?
Totem bars are implemented in the 3.1 version of Dominos. Specifically, you get three bars, instead of a bar with three pages.

Are you using the 3.2 version? Can you provide steps to reproduce the issue?
