What it does

SpellAlerter is a basic spell alert mod based off the original SpellAlert mod. See the images for the different alert types you can setup.

Features

  • Add any spell and ability you want to be alerted to
  • Three filters: Enemy Spellcasts, Enemy Buffs, and Friendly Debuffs
  • Additional filtering for players only (reduces spam from things such as Mirror Image)
  • Each alert can have its own sound play. It's similar to making triggers in MSBT but a lot more simplified.
  • Optional minimap icon
  • Data broker plugin
  • All options are inside the GUI. Type /sa or /spellalerter to access them.

Localization

It should work with all language clients. It is currently only localized in English and Simplified Chinese. If you'd like to help translate see the Locales.lua file.

  • The arrow will now point to the left if the source's target is the same as the source

  • Removed creating new anchors. I've never seen anyone use this.
  • Added a Sounds.lua file. Adding sounds is very easy. Open Sounds.lua and follow the instructions carefully.
  • Added Ace3 libraries
  • Added LibDBIcon-1.0 library
  • Added LibDataBroker-1.1 library - Hence there's support for LDB launcher display addons
  • Added LibSharedMedia-3.0 library
  • Added !ClassColors support
  • Created a FauxScrollFrame AceGUI widget for 'select' types in options

Not even sure why it lists 1.36 since I downloaded the new version yesterday. Result being that the mod doesn't work at all.

Please dont use that ugly arrow shizzle in future versions =P make it text indicator or something like that, but arrow imo looks very silly

I'm getting a lot of taint errors with the latest version of SpellAlerter.

It's also corrupting wow's built-in focus frame. Is there any way you can make the mod a little more default-ui friendly?

Hello
I was wondering if there was a way to disable the new option that shows who is the target of the spell being cast. I cant find an option like that in the gui. Thx in advance.

Would it be possible to get an option to route the messages through other addons such as MSBT? The addon is great, but I kinda dont like adding more text fields to my screen as it is already filled up pretty good.

Is there any way to align the text to center?It's not so beatiful when nicknames or spellnames are very small or very big.
Btw imba addon I use it since release, great job.If you can tell me how I can fix this small detail would be great.

This addon is almost perfect, do you have any plan to move the ui text to some standalone localization files? I see other addons have localization.enUS.lua localization.deDE.lua etc. If you do so, localization will be a lot easier, and I don't have to tanslate SpellAlerter.lua everytime you release a new version

Hey there, a good suggestion would be perhaps to use some sort of visual difference between a friendly CC and a buff. I think you have it coloreed but perhaps some ** ** or maybe (F) in brackets or something would help just a bit

for arenas not a big deal but just a small thing

thanks to wondermore, the addon now works for me, too.
and thanks kollektiv, awesome addon.

but regarding the friendly debuffs...do I have to add them and they will automatically show if somebody is in sheep? cuz then it ain't working for me. tried it out in arenas today, but it did not show cc's on my partner. I added Fear and Sheep.

I'm going to get rid of LibBabbleSpell and localize it through spellIDs.

wondermore: Thanks, i'll apply the font change. Do you have the latest version? X-position should work.

nodq: What do you mean by showing CC? There's an option to add friendly debuffs.

Great, that seems to work now, i can access the Options now, but the Addon itself still seems to not work, does not show any Spell actually so far, lemme test something, i will Edit later.



Edit:Okay the Addon works now very nice.

Now, only an Option is missing to show if a Budddy is in a CrowdControl thanks for this Addon.
