Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs

+ SBFOptions will now make the background for names visible when configuring to help you not overlap the icons when positioning (which can cause clicks on icons to not register)

Version 3.1.23
+ Fix an error when tracking is enabled

Version 3.1.22

+ You should now be able to click off player buffs
+ Fixed problems with the colour picker
+ You can now remove/edit filters

- The scale slider has finally been removed. Use the individual sizing mechanisms on the tabs, and set spacing between buffs on the layout tab

* When changing SBF profiles, the list of frames shown in ButtonFacade setup will update correctly

* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle
* Hopefully (hopefully!) the overextending bar thing is gone finally.

* Added vehicle to the list of units for buff frames on the general tab

Hi,

I've changed some code in my copy around line 775 in SBFFrame.lua to be this instead

Code:
        if slot.icon then
          if self.bfModule then
            slot.icon.border:Hide()
            if (buff.duration > 0) then
	            lbf:SetNormalVertexColor(slot.icon, 0, 1, 1, 1) -- buff
	    else
	            lbf:SetNormalVertexColor(slot.icon, 0, 1, 0, 1) -- aura

	    end

          else
            slot.icon.border:Show()
            if (buff.duration > 0) then
	            slot.icon.border:SetVertexColor(0, 1, 1, 1) -- buff
	    else
	    	    slot.icon.border:SetVertexColor(0, 1, 0, 1) -- aura
	    end
          end
        end
Just so I could have borders for buffs in one color, and aura's (like on mount, essence of wintergrasp etc etc) in a different colour. I'm trying to work out though, how I can check if a buff is an item buff so I can set to a 3rd colour.

Any pointers?

Feature request

Is it possible to have a spell is stealable filter/highlight option for mages?

Azcastbars has this option and I find it very helpful but I want to replace the buff frames with yours and I will sorely miss that option.

Great work on this mod.

Thanks for all your hard work and sharing your mod with the community, it is much appreciated by myself and my compilation users.

edit--
Opps just edited this because I did not take the time to read thru these post, so please ignore my feature request as it is already there.

On another note, might need to update your website howto page because it is not listed under the filters section.

Berserk

Hi!

Just started using your addon, and I must say I really like it - one thing I couldn'T get to work though:

when filtering auras/buffs, I'd like to show the Druid Ability "Berserk" in my buff frame, but NOT show the buff "berserk" from the weapon enchant. But tt=Berserk. throws an error, and n=Berserk&tt!~armor seems to not work either. I'm using a whitelist for my buffs so I only get the ones I want, but the Berserk thing I couldn't sort out yet

Is there an option to make the filters like tt~Berserk&tt!~armor work for the whitelist? or any other thing I missed? (The tooltip for the berserk from teh weapon enchant reads like will increase attack power but reduce armor by blabla, that's where my idea with the armor thingy came from).

Thx for your time!

am i blind?

I have searched and haven't stumbled on my answer yet. I like this addon but I am looking to show my buff/debuffs and my targets buff/debuffs at the same time. From what I have seen or firgured out i can only do one or the other.. Is this correct or is it like the subject says am i blind? thanks

Hi Satrina, big fan of your work.

I was wondering if there was a way to Whitelist spells my pet/vehicle casts?

E.g Engulfed in flames (Malygos) and Pyrite (FL).

Thanks in advanced.

Yup Recluse that's exactly what I wanted - works nicely.

Now all I have to do is implement this in with SBF to only display buffs 18-x

Wonder if this code could be translated into a filter, that would make it simple to modify the displayed buffs in SBF

So, I know about the 'my' filter, and how to use it... But I'm curious if there is the ability to merely change the display of 'my' filtered buffs without filtering -out- buffs.

As an example, show all debuffs on the target, but make them black&white except for the buffs I have cast. Or, make mine larger than everyone elses, so on and so forth. Anything like that in SBF?

Is my only solace to make two target debuff groups, one filtered, one not?

Sorry if I'm overlooking something obvious.

Something like this? Only advice I can offer you with it is that for me, mounting and dismounting took a second to register that the buff was gained/lost. In an addon I made for personal use, I had to create a 1 second delay to get it to properly detect that I was mounted or dismounted.

Code:
local f = CreateFrame("Frame")
f:SetScript("OnEvent", function(self, event, ...) return self[event](self, event, ...) end)
f:RegisterEvent("UNIT_AURA")

local function CountBuffs()
	local i = 1
	local buff = UnitBuff("player", i)
	while buff do
		i = i + 1
		buff = UnitBuff("player", i)
	end
	return i - 1
end

function f:UNIT_AURA(...)
	-- Only if the buff change involves the player
	if select(2,...) == "player" then
		local buffCount = CountBuffs()
		if buffCount > 18 then
			-- Do something
		end
	end
end

Satrina,

I'd figure I'd ask you this question as well seeing as you wrote the code for the best buff/debuff tracking mod.

Is there a way to determine the number of buffs through LUA? Either to return the data so that I can use it or just through a simple if/then statement, ie:

if Auras.beneficial("player") > 18
then ...

I want to create a window textured once I reach a certain number of buffs (for it to appear only after a certain number of buffs) .. is there any code you know of that returns this info?

Vampyrate - Hm, 3.1 should set up out of the box the same way that 3.0 did. I'll tale a look.

There is some odd behaviour with buttonfacade. Changing the BF colours will also change the timer colours. In addition it shows the umm how do you call them? Those red squares that work as a center for the single (de)buff.

Beliablue - Some people have had that problem before. I haven't been able to reproduce it to find out what's going on, but I suspect it's something funny in the saved variables. If you wouldn't mind sending me your SatrinaBuffFrame.lua file from your WTF/Account/<AccountName>/SavedVariables, it'd help to track it down I hope. You can send it to me as a PM, or by email to [email protected]. In the meantime, the only solution seems to be for you to do /sbf reset and set up the frames for that character again =(

Sorian - 3.2 will have all kinds of options like that for all you visually-oriented people

Vampyrate - The old buff handling code is incompatible with new features. I'm not sure what details of operation you're referring to, but you definitely should be able to make 3.1 work the same way as 3.0 did.
Well I meant in the sense that the older version worked right out of the box. All I did was adjust visual elements like the position, the scale, fonts, etc. The newer version looked like it had way more of a "first time" config.

I have show tracking checked in global options, but it doesn't seem to be showing my tracking at all. Is there something else I have to do?
