Satrina Buff Frames 3  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.1.25
by: Satrina, father0fnine

SBF has a maintainer!
I have to say, I am amazed by the number of people who just kept plugging along. It makes me feel bad that I do not have the time to keep working on this myself - you guys are all awesome! The good news is that a new maintainer has been found. Meet father0fnine, who is taking over SBF. I'm sure you'll all show him as much love as you showed me all these years

SBF 3.2 with clickable buffs
Go here: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...o.php?id=12524

+ SBFOptions will now make the background for names visible when configuring to help you not overlap the icons when positioning (which can cause clicks on icons to not register)

Version 3.1.23
+ Fix an error when tracking is enabled

Version 3.1.22

+ Fixed problems with the colour picker
+ You can now remove/edit filters

Version 3.1.9
* Fixed an error when checking castable status (SBFUtil line 86)

Version 3.1.8

* Some small fixes for ButtonFacade. Some skins will still not get border colours. I've sent a message to StormFX to see if there's something I am missing or if it's just an inconsistency with some BF skins
* Added the ability for users to add custom sounds for expiry warnings. See SatrinaBuffFrame/Media/SBFSounds.lua for directions
* When changing SBF profiles, the list of frames shown in ButtonFacade setup will update correctly

* You can now reset the profile for the current character by using /sbf reset

Version 3.1.5
* TOC version has been updated for WoW 3.1
* SBF will no longer allow you to try and flow buffs for different units. (There's no way to make that work without a major code revamp)
* Buff and Name help in non-English localisations has been updated with the current English version. Translators will need to re-translate them
* ha filters should behave a little bit better now
* Vehicle buff frames will update and clear when you exit a vehicle
* Hopefully (hopefully!) the overextending bar thing is gone finally.

* Cooldown sweeps should not flicker in combat now
* Cooldown sweeps should not occasionally cause an error

* Added vehicle to the list of units for buff frames on the general tab

Version 3.1.0
* Filters now work completely for any unit

cool mod satrina but I have a bug with rogue poisons, when you apply them they don't update in the buffbar immediately (as weapon buffs) with any throttle setting (which i dont think matters)

Yep, there's a problem naming frames, that will be fixed in .18

duhwhat - glad everything got working for you!

numein - yeah, putting buffs for two different units in the same frame isn't going to happen (at least for a while) for technical reasons. Basically SBF updates player effects only when it needs to, and target effects only when it needs to, in order to keep the CPU time spent updating to a minimum. Since these updates aren't necessarily at the same time, you'd end up doing a lot of extra work redrawing frames with mixed buffs. It's no skin off my nose to change the design slightly to make it work, but then people who fixate on the outputs of profiling addons get all up in arms =)

H0PE - Thanks for that, will check!

Phanx - Sure, that's no problem

numein/Turgis - Will check it out, thanks!

Psipherious - In 3.1.12, vehicle buffs appearing in the player frame was a bug, and you may have noticed that your defend buff also never updated its stack count. 3.2.14 fixed this, but you also need to explicitly tell SBF where to put vehicle buffs. The v filter is for filtering effects caused by your vehicle, such as Pyrite in the Flame Leviathan encounter, so you can keep track of them more easily.

You have two options: 1) Any frame for player buffs/debuffs that is a blacklist can be set to show vehicle effects instead of player effects when you are mounted by using the Vehicle buffs checkbox. 2) Make a frame for the vehicle unit

AnrDaemon - Uh, if you're just going to have no frames why would you even have the addon installed?

Please make it possible to delete all frames or implement other way to completely disable module by user choice.

I upgraded to 3.1.17 a few days ago from 3.1.12. I have noticed when riding the horse vehicle mounts in the tournament grounds and inside the new instances that my buff for "Defend" coming from the vehicle is no longer displaying.

My buff frame uses a black list and only blacklists auras and totems, which I have a separate buff frame whitelisted to only show auras and totems and Defend doesn't show up in either of them.

Aside from this I have had no other issues at all with this version so far.

I have also tried adding v (for vehicles) to the whitelist of my aura/totem frame and still nothing.

Any ideas, and/or anyone else experiencing this?

Getting some errors, so I tought I report it...
Wanted to try out the "Fast bar expiry" feature, but when i enable it i get errors, and not really when the buffs reach the expiry time, it happens more random. Only happens if this feature is enabled.

Getting this error:

Hey Satrina,

Would it be too much trouble to change the Interface Options entry to not automatically close that window and open the SBF GUI? It happens often enough that I click on it by accident, and it's a bit annoying. MSBT solves the same problem by adding a config panel that only has one button to open its configuration GUI.

I also posted a feature request on your portal.

Not sure if its a bug or something else so I didnt want to make a big hassle about this and create a bug report (if you want Satrina I will of course):

-Copying different profile over to a profile
-Setting a Buttonfacade skin globally (seems ok)
-Logoff log in and SFB doesn't retain the selected Skin with BF but the earlier skin from the other profile.

I had this before but then It went away. Now its happening again.

First of all, gr8 job to fix the issues since 3.1.13 version. Works cool now. Thanx a lot for the amazing addon.

Have a question. I wanted to configure a frame to show only selected buffs on me and debuffs on my target (e.g. procs like hot streak, and scorch, living bomb on target). I see that flowing doesn't work this way (can't flow target to player), but is there any other way to do this ?

For now my best idea is to just make frames for every effect i want to track and stack them together, wich is cool in some way (every effect would show on same spot every time), but not practical if there are more effects to track then say 3-4.

Thanx for any reply.

midnightblast - I can bring options up no problems in Ironforge, an inn, whatever. Not sure what to tell you.

Naboo9 - Well, using any filter with ! in a whitelist is not going to give you what you want. Any effect that is not a heal will match tt!~heals. The heals are getting through since Renew and Rejuv and all of those are matching on the first filter.

whitelist issue

I just updated to the most recent version (from the version released just before this one), and I'm having an issue with a bar that was working fine previously. The filters I'm using are (whitelist):

-D<5&!my (buffs with a duration of less than 5 minutes that weren't cast by me)
-n=XXX (a few specific spells of mine that I want to see in this bar, like barkskin)
-n~potion (I want to see an icon w/duration for the potion of wild magic for example)
-tt!~heals (I do not want to see any heals or HoTs)

This bar is now displaying my "find herbs" aura, the essence of wintergrasp aura, and my flask which has a duration of 2 hours and time remaining of 29 minutes - none of which are specified. Also, the last 2 parameters are not working, and did not work in the previous version either - in other words, I see heals and HoTs, and do not see potion effects.

Any ideas?

In the known issues - "/sbf options occasionally freezes the game
Haven't been able to reproduce, looking into it". I can recreate it nearly 100% of the time. lol If you try to use the slash command in an area you are getting rested in, IE a town or inn, if freezes up. Also if you have enhanced color picker and you try to copy paste a color to change the timer font color while in a rested zone it hard locks the client damn near every time.

Crashed myself three times trying to change the font color. Moved out of town to see if the lag was causing the issue and never had the slash command freeze me. So hoped back in and out of town and sure enough "ZZZ" = lock up. :/

If you can't get it to do so with that send me a note and I'll send ya a list of the addon's I'm currently running.

Edit: Just moved to the newest SBF and now SBF isn't showing for Button Facade. >< Gonna tool around a bit and see if I cant make it work.

Edit2: Button Facade just updated and now works with SBF again.
