LilSparky's Workshop  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 119release
by: lilsparky [More]

LilSparky's Workshop adds auction-derived pricing information for trade skills right into the trade skill recipe frame. Each skill is evaluated for material costs and potential value of the item created. These two numbers are listed next to each skill in an easy-to-read format.

Supported Auction Scanners:

* Auctioneer
* AuctionLite
* AuctionMaster
* Auctionator

Trade Skill Interfaces Supported:

* GnomeWorks
* AdvancedTradeSkillWindow
* Skillet
* Blizzard's Standard UI
* Doublewide Tradeskills
* Tradeskill HD
* MrTrader
* Jobber

Optionally Requires:

* Informant
* LibPeriodicTable
(these mods will assist in identifying vendor sourced items)

Auction pricing models can be selected by right-clicking either the value column or the cost column (each can have a different pricing method attached).

The Value column can be left clicked to cycle through the different valuation methods for the resultant item: Auction Value (a), Vendor Value (v), Disenchant Value (d) or the greatest of the three different values (the default). Any instance of an item Value being greater than the Cost to create it will have a highlighted Value entry. Optionally, the Value column can be displayed as a percentage of the Cost column.

The Cost column simply sums up the costs for each reagent and reports the total.

Both columns can be combined into a single "Profit" column which simply reflects the Value minus the Cost.

Tooltips for each column give more details about the price breakdowns LSW is considering.

Right clicking on the cost column will bring up a menu offering the ability to override item price and vendor availability on a per-reagent basis.

Glad you're still posting here, I was looking for a working version since mine crapped out and forgot to even think of checking wowace.com. Looking forward to destroying with some enchanting scrolls now too!

Surprises me really that I've still never found a single other mod that does this, it seems like showing profitability is something every tradeskill user would want.

Could be there a slave frame with prices, scrolling in sync with main frame? That would reduce the need of using less readable font in recipes list.
funny. i could probably rearrange how i'm placing the buttons so that the worst case scenario would be ugly overlap instead of floating buttons.

I am using auctioneer.
yeah, the min buyout scheme is pretty much from that norgana thread. keep in mind that the wowace version is still alpha, but i think it's reasonably solid.

depends on which auction module you're using. Auctioneer and Auctionmaster both have a Min Buyout pricer. hit ALT and you'll get the number of live auctions (if you're using the min buyout scheme).

i'm loving the enchanting scroll addition.

within 5 minutes of posting a heap of lowbie scrolls (vanilla and BC mats) i've already had 5 sales at 300% markups. i was just trying to populate the auctioneer data with scrolls i assumed noone would ever buy. i've had to remake the scrolls to relist so i can do a scan and get some price data.

if this continues enchanting might become more profitable than glyphs for me. at least until i get some competitiors.

once again great work. if there is any way i can help with testing or feedback i'm more than happy to lend my assistance.

edit : oh one addition i can suggest. i use arkInventory for my Very Many Bankalts(tm) so i can see what i have in storage and which to login to get it. i've also started to use Altoholic which has a similar function as well as more advanced multi toon managment(though seems a bit buggy). arkInventory tells me how many of an item i have in the tooltip. Altoholic even counts the items i have on the AH as well as banks and inventory and lists this total in the tooltip. this makes my glyph manufacturing easy as i can see how many i have in stock when i go through my crafting process. only make ones i have sold out of.

because the enchanting interface doesnt list the scroll as the product these addons cant list my inventory. where you have added the scroll tooltip to the enchanting interface might it be possible to work in arkInventory or Altoholic compatibility? tolltips hooks perhaps? so looking at the scroll tooltip can tell me how many i have in stock?
i just saw a program on the antikythera mechanism. funny.

glad you like the new version. i don't have all the scroll ids yet, so there are some gaps but i hope to correct that soon. also, vellum prices aren't implemented and i'm not sure i'm going to implement them unless there's a real need.

i'm not sure i can really do a tooltip hooking mechanism, but i do intend to use the alt-key method to swap out the current inventory for the cost. right now, if you hit alt the value column will show the number of auctions (if that data is available from the auction mod you're using). i want to also make the cost column swap out for current inventory and maybe craftable inventory (current/craftable). i suppose i'd need to add a flag somewhere to include alts in that scheme.

my plugin support system should make it easy to add any inventory handling addons.

hmm... i think that you mean "atsw_skilllisting". it's a known issue with atsw. atsw changed to local vars so lsw doesn't know about them any more. you can fix it for now by going into atsw's lua file and changing line 40 to remove the "local" from "local atsw_skilllisting = {}"

the next version of lsw will work without that change to atsw.

i you install "LibPeriodicTable" then that database will be used to determine which items are vendor items and which are auction items. i'm debating adding a simple scanner into lsw for those who don't have libpt and also to catch cases where libpt is wrong.

enchant scrolls to be calculated.
enchant scrolls to include vellum costs (i'd settle for just the above).
in the works!

sorting via profitability (% and/or gross)
i don't think i can really affect the sorting in atsw. but if you use Skillet then it has sorting that lsw DOES plug in to an you can sort a number of different ways (reagent cost, value of item, profit).

inscription inks to factor in the ink of the sea price as a maximum. (if celestial ink costs 5g but ink of the sea is 3g i can trade 1:1 in Dalaran)
i'll look into it.
