LilSparky's Workshop  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 119release
by: lilsparky [More]

LilSparky's Workshop adds auction-derived pricing information for trade skills right into the trade skill recipe frame. Each skill is evaluated for material costs and potential value of the item created. These two numbers are listed next to each skill in an easy-to-read format.

Supported Auction Scanners:

* Auctioneer
* AuctionLite
* AuctionMaster
* Auctionator

Trade Skill Interfaces Supported:

* GnomeWorks
* AdvancedTradeSkillWindow
* Skillet
* Blizzard's Standard UI
* Doublewide Tradeskills
* Tradeskill HD
* MrTrader
* Jobber

Optionally Requires:

* Informant
* LibPeriodicTable
(these mods will assist in identifying vendor sourced items)

Auction pricing models can be selected by right-clicking either the value column or the cost column (each can have a different pricing method attached).

The Value column can be left clicked to cycle through the different valuation methods for the resultant item: Auction Value (a), Vendor Value (v), Disenchant Value (d) or the greatest of the three different values (the default). Any instance of an item Value being greater than the Cost to create it will have a highlighted Value entry. Optionally, the Value column can be displayed as a percentage of the Cost column.

The Cost column simply sums up the costs for each reagent and reports the total.

Both columns can be combined into a single "Profit" column which simply reflects the Value minus the Cost.

Tooltips for each column give more details about the price breakdowns LSW is considering.

Right clicking on the cost column will bring up a menu offering the ability to override item price and vendor availability on a per-reagent basis.

atsw apparently changed some of the variables to locals. i'll see how i might work around that.

auctionator support will happen.

doublewide should be doable -- pretty easily. i think it's just a matter of telling lsw how many skills it displays (since i think it keeps the same naming conventions).

sort of been away from the game for a while so i apologize for letting things lag...

I keep getting:
\lilsparkyworkshop.lua:990: attempt to index global 'atsw_skilllisting' (a nil value)

over and over every time I open a tradeskill window. Both addons are up to date.

I'm using DoubleWideTradeSkills which - as the name suggests - doubles the width of any trade skill window leaving more vertical space for the list of recipes. LSW, however, only shows prices for the top ~8 recipes.

I've tried using ATSW as you suggest, but all I need is a bigger window, so I went back to DWTS.

Cheers.

This is Zirco, author of Auctionator. Love your addon.

I was wondering if you might consider supporting Tekkub's other suggested API: GetAuctionBuyout. If you were to add support for that, LilSparky's Workshop would work with Auctionator, which would be very cool :-)

I left you a more detailed message in your private messages inbox but thought I'd post this here as well.

Thanks,
Zirco

I agree. If I had the ability to quickly see the undercut price, I would be in heaven. I've taken a look at the code of LSW but I'm not a programmer and don't understand the code in the slightest.

Component costs

I've only accidentally found that LSW showing details as tooltip somewhere in the farthest corner of game window.
I'm in the same boat here, as an engineer I have a lot of things where I make parts to make parts to make an item, and these engineer made parts are almost never on the AH so I HAVE to make them, but THIER components are far more expensive than they are.

Here is a prime Example.
Tranquil Mechanical Yeti sell 146g make 22g24s
Breakdown in Tool tip:
Cure Rugged Hide (1) 1g57s
Thorium Widget (4) 13g76s
Globe of Water (2) 3g96s
Truesilver Transformer (2) 2g67s
Gold Power Core (1) 26s74c

However the Thorium Widget, Truesilver Transformer, and Gold Power Core, I am forced to make myself. Which usually happens with most recipes where parts are in the same profession as the end item. This drastically increases the cost.

Tooltip for those 3 items.
Thorium Widget: 8g69s I need 4 so cost here is 34g76s
Thorium Bar (3) 8g31s
Runecloth (1) 37s43c

Truesilver Transformer: 18g39s x2 = 36g78s
Truesilver Bar (2) 9g01s
Elemental Earth (2) 6g69s
Elemental Air (1) 2g67s

Gold Power Core: 70c93c Makes three I only need 1 Cost = 23s64c
Gold Bar (1) 70s93c

This comes to an actual cost of not 22g24s but 77g31s

Suggestion: If a PART of the item can be made by the same profession that is making the item, use the cost to MAKE the part rather than the price it sells for to calculate the total cost of the entire item.

You could append these with 'm'

It would also be nice to add a breakdown into the tooltip like so:

Tranquil Mechanical Yeti
Cure Rugged Hide x1 1g57a
Thorium Widget x4 13g76a 34g76m
Thorium Bar x12 33g24a
Runecloth x4 1g49a
Globe of Water x2 3g96a
Truesilver Transformer x2 2g67a 36g78m
Truesilver Bar x4 39g04a
Elemental Earth x4 26g76a
Elemental Air x2 5g34a
Gold Power Core x1 26s74a 70s93m
Gold Bar x1 70s93
Total Estimated Cost: 22g24a 77g31m

But having it simply be Like this would also be fantastic:

Tranquil Mechanical Yeti
Cure Rugged Hide x1 1g57a
Thorium Widget x4 34g76m
Globe of Water x2 3g96a
Truesilver Transformer x2 36g78m
Gold Power Core x1 70s93m
Total Estimated Cost: 77g31m

lol. it's more of an internal angst than an out-right blow up the human race kind of thing.

it needs vendor prices because a lot of recipes use items from vendors (vials, threads, etc) and it also will let you know how much you can vendor an item for (which might be all you can reliably do with some items).

it'll use any number of vendor databases, too, but if you're using auctioneer then informant is generally the most logical choice.

But more recently I ran into the same issue, of no pricing data being displayed in my tradeskill window like before, except wiping the SV from all addons related didn't help. Is there some specific module this addon uses to help display it's prices or convey to skillet? Am I possibly missing something? I am pretty sure the issue is on my end.

thanks
weird. try forcing a price module with the right-click. lsw's default ("Market") is what's used in the standard auc item tooltip. do the tooltips show a market value when lsw fails to find one?

when it doesn't display prices, is it completely blank or just a matter of 0's (or --'s) for auction values? make sure you don't turn off Informant along with whatever pricing modules you don't like or lsw won't be happy (informant provides the vendor prices).
