LilSparky's Workshop  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 119release
by: lilsparky [More]

LilSparky's Workshop adds auction-derived pricing information for trade skills right into the trade skill recipe frame. Each skill is evaluated for material costs and potential value of the item created. These two numbers are listed next to each skill in an easy-to-read format.

Supported Auction Scanners:

* Auctioneer
* AuctionLite
* AuctionMaster
* Auctionator

Trade Skill Interfaces Supported:

* GnomeWorks
* AdvancedTradeSkillWindow
* Skillet
* Blizzard's Standard UI
* Doublewide Tradeskills
* Tradeskill HD
* MrTrader
* Jobber

Optionally Requires:

* Informant
* LibPeriodicTable
(these mods will assist in identifying vendor sourced items)

Auction pricing models can be selected by right-clicking either the value column or the cost column (each can have a different pricing method attached).

The Value column can be left clicked to cycle through the different valuation methods for the resultant item: Auction Value (a), Vendor Value (v), Disenchant Value (d) or the greatest of the three different values (the default). Any instance of an item Value being greater than the Cost to create it will have a highlighted Value entry. Optionally, the Value column can be displayed as a percentage of the Cost column.

The Cost column simply sums up the costs for each reagent and reports the total.

Both columns can be combined into a single "Profit" column which simply reflects the Value minus the Cost.

Tooltips for each column give more details about the price breakdowns LSW is considering.

Right clicking on the cost column will bring up a menu offering the ability to override item price and vendor availability on a per-reagent basis.

i found this addon a few weeks back and i love it. i've been able to relegate several spreadsheets to the recycle bin.

i was able to get it working with ATSW by commenting out the local variable but i eagerly await your new version.

a couple of things i would appreciate very much in a new version.

vendor prices to override Auctioneer prices when the items arent limited items (ie some gems and enchant mats can be sourced from vendors but these should be ignored) its a bit misleading when the vendor price of mats is over estimated.

enchant scrolls to be calculated.
enchant scrolls to include vellum costs (i'd settle for just the above).

sorting via profitability (% and/or gross)

inscription inks to factor in the ink of the sea price as a maximum. (if celestial ink costs 5g but ink of the sea is 3g i can trade 1:1 in Dalaran)

thanks again for the work you've done so far. its great to see you are maintaining this wonderful project. i know i'm not the only one eagerly awating an update.

Anti

ps - any chance i can get an exclusive rights deal for my server? *grin*

Just tell me where to send the caffeine, brother! I'm lost without my LilSparky's Workshop (w/ ATSW)!

Great addon - glad you're back on it.

if you use skillet, you can sort by profit (value - cost) but you can't actually display that as a single number.

you can also change the value column to be % of cost if you prefer that (right-click the value column).

So basicaly i still have to mouseover the item to see the tooltip if the price what i will sell it is a big difference from the one ur mod shows.

hope u get me
yup. undercutting will be forthcoming.

the Info output is presented in a different way. If you mouse over the recipe in the skill list it shows the breakdown of cost per item required to craft. Sort of like mousing over equipment and it showing you the stats it did the same with recipes. Then on the right side of window just above the icons for the reagents it had a total cost and also a confidence that price is accurate. Not sure how it was done, but I'd make a guess in that if the item had X amount of scans it gave a %. Say something was scanned by auctioneer 10 times....then it might put a 10% confidence in the total price. but say it was scanned 100 time it'd output 100%. Not sure if that how it was done, but Gazmik still has it for download in the abandoned addon part of his site.

Biggest part of what i disliked is when using Skillet the auction prices are input to the right of the recipes and you ahve to mouse over the prices to get more detail. maybe i can snag a pic of how reagent displayed and post it.

Thanks
the confidence was based on how many times the item was found in the action cache (ie, how many times it was "seen"). being seen 10 times equates to 100% confidence. at least, that was in the version i saw a while back.

the whole point of lsw is to put the data right there on the screen next to each trade skill so you can quickly compare skills and see which are profitable craft or cheap to grind levels on.

i'll see if i can track down a copy of reagentcost and maybe something will click on how i could do things better...

i don't know why it doesn't work with doublewide, honestly. maybe it's a matter of initialization timing or something... i'm doing a major reworking of lsw with the goal of making the trade skill frame and auction support routines much easier to maintain. i'll be sure doublewide is fully supported.

hey cool. always nice to see people using my work.

i'm currently in a major rewrite of lsw. it was my first mod and, honestly, i quite hacky and hard to update/upgrade. the new version will be MUCH easier to add support for new auction addons or tradeskill ui's.

you can fix atsw support by going into the atsw addon itself and removing the "local" in front of the "atsw_skilllisting" line. by making that variable local, it's no longer accessible by lsw so that's the reason it fails.

Awesome addon by the way )

Love using it
lsw doesn't initialize until you first open the tradeskill window (so it'll pause the first time for a moment). once it's initialized, then it will only pause slightly when you open the trade skill window as it collects current ah prices.
