Time Until AFK 

That's unlikely to happen, ever. I could see people that use this addon getting punished, but never the creator.

That would be like fining makers of CD/DVD burners because people pirate movies and music.

Nothing would make me happier than to see the author of this mod permanently banned from wow and all his characters deleted for releasing this honor leeching afk scumbag addon.

That is a really crappy defense. I can personally ignore or leave any channel where someone is spamming. I cannot, however, immediately do ANYTHING about people AFKing in battlegrounds. Yes, I can report them, but even then it takes time for my ticket to get read and then it takes more time for the person to get investigated and then removed.

Chances are if I report someone for being AFK in the battleground it's going to do me zero good during THAT run. Ignoring a person or leaving the channel has an immediate effect.

Does this addon force people to AFK in the battleground? No. It does, however, make it easier to do so with the features this addon has. Now instead of running back to your computer every 5 minutes to tap the space bar you just have to turn up your speakers and run back when the buzzer sounds.

Also, posts such as yours don't help flaming either. Mocking people just provokes them to continue their struggle.

Don't listen to the retards saying you should take it down. If people use it to AFK in a BG, then it's the users fault not yours. You don't see people reporting the crafting mods that allow you to spam the trade channel, some of them automatically! Hell, people better start reporting my Mage Taxi mod cause it has the potential to let people spam! Just continue to do what you're doing and screw the rest.

Tip: Don't reply to the flames. It only adds fuel for them to flame you even more.

there would have been a really easy solution .. instead of hooking all movement keys (which isn't really "cheap" anyway) it could have just checked the coordinates... that would not have worked inside battlegrounds in the first place since there are no coordinates .9

Doesn't matter anymore. They're implementing things to counter AFKers. So this addon, regardless of it's intent, will cease to be useful anyways.

You could easily get away from this addon being exploited by leechers by making the alerts/sounds not trigger until 10 seconds AFTER becoming AFK. I'm not up on what happens to AFK flagged players in a bg, but at least the other players will have a chance to see them and be able to take apporpriat action.

Did anyone consider the USEFUL fuctions this addon has? I like it because I can use it to make sure I dont miss a JOIN Queue. Just because it has the potential to be abused, doesn't mean it's bad. Why doesn't Blizzard just change AV to 30 seconds of inactivity=kick? or something extreme JUST for AV would be fine.

Blizzard won't break this. It uses such root functions (detecting spellcasts, movement...) that they would break many MANY acceptable addons just to break this.

Why did the decursive break take soooooo long? Cause they didn't want to just break everything. And Decursive was making combat decisions, something they expressly don't want addons doing. This addon is just giving a timer and audio cues to the player, who then makes the decision to "refresh" their AFK timer. Blizzard has said many times that they want the player making decisions, not mods....

So... yea... the mod's functions, not "illegal".... what it assists the player with? Definitely illegal. Mod's fault? No. User's fault? Yes.

Either way, you don't present a strong usage example for this addon to counter the AFKer's use. I would have never released this mod if I had written it... perhaps you should take it down as an act of good faith? Giving to the community is good, giving something that's a magnet for cheaters... not so good.

Hell, even just taking out the sound would be a great gesture. It would mean that the player would have to be actively watching the timer to AFK camp. Seems somewhat counterproductive to be sitting at your computer watching a timer so you can "stay" AFK, does it not?

When you make your work public, you accept the risk of getting unfavorable reviews.
No one flamed you, instead a few people pointed to blue responses regarding the exploitative practice your addon facilitates.

You are the only one inviting flames, by making such ridiculous claims as Blizzard breaking the addon in a patch...
Would they remove the ability of addons to use timers or the AFK state altogether?
