Comix  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.2.0.1
by: Darool [More]

This is the continuation of Comix.

Main updates are taking place on curse.com as there i earn at least some money to create this (it takes a lot of time to adjust things for addons).

Thanks to Si63 for letting me continue it.

if you have any bug reports or feature requests please post them here in the ticket system. Comix is a plain Fun Addon. It's sole purpose is to keep you entertained. It doesn't do anything useful but the EntertainYourFaceOff™ technology contained in the package is sure to keep you amused for hours, and you won't even know why

In plain english: It shows a Image and plays a sound when you crit. These Images and Sounds are done in Comic Style. but it can do so much more....

Features:

cool stuff happens on Crits (heals and damage) plays fancy sounds plays sounds ripped from other things keeps track of up to 2 useless statistics now includes a bad joke detector an awesome objection system a drama button for the unnecessary drama in the game (all drama - its a game people :P) now incorporates the Supermassive Fail mod for all the times when saying fail on its own just doesn't cut it (try using /awesome instead of /fail sometime too you'll be glad you did :P) and more.....

A note on /fail and /awesome:

/fail and /awesome are both used like this example:

/awesome say this is ~ (double )

this will make you say (in say) this is [Pure Awesome]

the ~ (double ) marks where you want the supermassive fail or the pure awesome to go

valid choices for where to send the message are: say, emote, yell, party, guild, officer, raid, rw (for raid warning), bg (for battleground), afk or dnd

______

GFX: Venomia, Maidokilla SFX: Random things found on the net :P support us! GUI: Turaka ( previously Si, Florix) Coding: Turaka (previously Si, Zabuza and Maidokilla)

PS: The Way i loaded 'images' and 'sounds' is somehow copied from the Author of the addon Critman. I really liked the way he did that cause ppl can modify Images and Sounds easy this way. the new flash gfx were ripped from the mod Instabolt, which i think ripped them from somewhere else so no hard feelings

Does this mod recognize when the mature language filter is turned on? I'd like to install this mod for my nephew, but the "holy shit" sound effect and the "fap fap fap" heal graphic might be a little...not appropriate for an 11-year old.

Any chance you could make the menu have understandable options, or allow the user to switch between a funny and serious menu?
I suppose that describing silly functions seriously might be impossible... "Disable leftward boinging of crits!"
which ones in particular did you have trouble understanding?, between the option name and the description, i thought it was fairly easy to work out what did what.

Im a level 70 undead mage, i play on skullcrusher EU, and my character is named Artanias.

This is an issue for me, seeing as the text popping up is only cool when its on actual spells, and when im a fire mage with talented molten armor pretty much everything hitting me can trigger a crit, hence i end up being SPAMMED with the text sometimes, which i really feel ruins the "coolness" of it.
crit gap is currently broken, this is due to me planning to remove it in the near future, but i may just fix it instead

an alternative for now would be to lower the crit percentage, so its not always going off, this will affect the chance on spells you want it to crit on though, but may help your spam troubles

search comix.lua for the UNIT_SPELLCAST_SENT event, and you'll see how its done

the problem is that the jump stuff uses a protected function called JumpOrAscendStart which seems to fire whenever the jump button is pressed

i will put in some checks for flight form and swift flight form in the next update

Have a look at jumpcounter or fall-o-meter's algorithm for jump detection.
i actually wrote the "jump" detection quite a while ago, and yes it does detect spacebar hits (although it is done through the JumpOrAscendStart function), at the time i couldnt work out a way of doing it differently

i will have a look at these and see how they do it though

Also when the screen shakes, instead of shaking it violently just after the crit, it stutteringly moves the frame around for 10-12 seconds. The game itself runs perfectly fine (system has 4GB of memory and a constant 60+FPS).

I tried changing the vanish time, disabling all other addons, disabling various options in Comix and even updating my drivers, but none of that worked. Any idea of what it could be?

i had this problem myself on my PC (core 2 duo, 2x 8800gts sli) and i fixed it turning on V-Sync in my graphics options, i don't think it has anything to do with the mod itself, but more of a WoW engine problem
