Enhanced Tradeskills (Fan Update)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v3.1
by: Sithehenn [More]

I am not the original author.

NOTE: Your cache MUST be reset before using this addon. Log into the character select screen, click the addons button, and disable this addon. Log into the game (any character), and open a tradeskill. Then log out back to the character select screen and enable this addon. Failure to clear the cache will cause the game to hang.

This mod was originally created by Pinky and updated by Romualdo and Triadian. I have had previously modified it to work with Patch 2.4, and have now updated it for WotLK.

From the Readme.txt

How many times have you wanted to know what you could craft when taking into account the inventory in your bank? Well now you can! The standard TradeSkill screen (Alchemy, First Aid, Cooking, etc.) has been enhanced to not only include what you can craft from your current inventory (current behaviour), but also what you can craft if make a trip to the vendor, what you can craft if you include your bank contents, and what you can craft if you include the contents of your inventory and bank and make a trip to the vendor.

The information on the top pane of the trade skill screen has been changed from:

SkillName [INV]
to:
SkillName [TOT/TOTVEN]

where:
INV is the standard count of items you can craft based upon your inventory (normal WOW)
TOT is what you can craft using your inventory and bank items
TOTVEN is what you can craft using you inventory and bank, and a trip to the vendor

there is also two optional figures [ INV / INVVEN/ TOT/TOTVEN]
INVVEN is what you can craft with your inventory and a trip to the vendor

For example:

Healing Potion [7/20]
or
Healing Potion [4/4/7/20]

means that you have sufficient items in your inventory to make 4 healing potions, if you went to a vendor that sold vials you could still make 4, if you include the items in your bank you can make 7 healing potions, and you include a trip to the vendor you could make 20 healing potions.

If you see '-' for a column value that means you've got a weird case where everything to craft the item is buyable, you have some, but not all of those items. Not quite sure what to display for the case where all is buyable... conceivably you could create an infinite number of those items...

Additionally, in the bottom pane in the trade skill screen the reagent name now has additional information about the total available to the user. For example:

Plaguebloom [22]

means that you have 22 plaguebloom herbs in your inventory and bank (the number is your inventory is still displayed in the reagent icon next to the number needed for the item). This allows you to very quickly see what reagents you may still need to get for an item.
History:

2005: Originally started using KC_EnhancedTrades by Kaelten.
2006: Kaelten stopped updating KC_EnhancedTrades, and it fell into "The Land of Outdated Mods."
Went looking for a replacement and found Enhanced Trade Skills (continued) by Triadian, which was an update of Enhanced Trade Skills by Pinky (this was the mod Kaelten based his on).
2007 - Burning Crusade: ETS(continued) stopped working with Burning Crusade, and Triadian was no longer updating it, so I played around and got it mostly working.
- Patch 2.1: ETS(continued) broke hard with new Blizzard TradeskillUI functionality. I poked around under the hood, compared it to the Blizzard code, made a couple changes, closed the hood, and fired it up again.
Present: Seems to be working fine and playing nice (so far) with the other mods I have on my machine, so I thought I'd share what I have with the community.
- See Change Log tab for further updates/changes.

Please remember: This is a Beta version, and therefore it is still a work in progress. If you have any questions/problems, please post them here and I'll see what I can do, since I'm not really much of a coder. If someone else wants to take up this project, please feel free to do so.

3.1: Updated an issue where Blizzard was adding an extra quantity tag.

3.0:Updated for WotLK

2.4d: Fixed a problem with the filters only working on the first character that used the addon, as noticed by Nychz.

2.4c: Re-enabled the filters

2.4b: Added a button to bring up the configuration frame.

2.4a: Updated bank functions to work better with Bagnon and OneBank. Many Thanks to reubenhelms for his assistance! :)

2.4: Updated for patch 2.4, and added some more buyables.

2.2a: Updated a couple more buyables

2.2: Updated for Version 2.2 patch

2.1a: Added a couple of missing items into the buyable item database

2.1: Updated .toc

2.1 Beta: Initial Version

turning the filter on/off

Hey,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I did see that you made some changes since my last post, and I think maybe there's a misunderstanding.

You added a button which brings up the configuration window, which is great, but...
The problem I'm having is I can't seem to find how to actually turn the filter on and off. The filter is apparently off for me atm, since I can see every recipe I know, regardless of wether or not i have the mats to make it. To put it another way, I can't seem to find a way to take advantage of the top 2/3 of the options in the config window.

There used to be a button in the bottom left corner of the professions/cooking/first aid window which would toggle the filter on/off. I don't see that anymore.

I did however notice the other day that I have this strange button in my pet training window that says off on it. When I click it I get the config window for this mod. Am i having an add-on conflict?!? (p.s. - I actually just logged into WoW and turned off all my other add-ons - nothing changed)

Please help. I'm fairly savvy with computers, but I'm by no means a programmer.

Again, thanks for all your work keeping this mod alive. Even w/o access to the filter, I still find this to be an invaluable tool.

Am I just being a dork and I've missed something?
To answer the second part first, you're not being a dork.

I did a little digging in my backups, and apparently I removed the button sometime in early 2007. I'm not exactly sure why...

I won't have the time for a day or two to poke around, but at first glance it seems like it'll be a simple fix.

I'll get it added back in, and an updated version posted as soon as I can.

Updated for 2.4

This had been updated for 2.4, and works with TradeTabs and Reverse Engineering.

Note: When upgrading from a previous version, you will need to reset your cache. Log into the character select screen, click the addons button, and disable this addon. Log into the game (any character), and open a tradeskill. Then log out back to the character select screen and enable this addon. Failure to clear the cache will cause the game to hang.

Not working with TradeTabs until UI is reloaded

I was trying to figure out why this addon was not working with TradeTabs (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...radeTabs.html). What will happen on startup is that the tabs that this addon creates on the trade skill window will not show up. However, if I reload the UI, I can see all the tabs. If I don't initially load ETS, then TradeTabs works without issue. I was not sure if you were aware of this, but I thought it weird that ETS could initially prevent TradeTabs from working until the UI was reloaded.

Hmm...

I don't use any inventory mods normally, so I downloaded ArkInventory and did some testing on the PTR. I couldn't find any problems, it detected everything fine for me.

Are you using the latest version of ETS?

To Hope: You're welcome I do what I can with the limited knowledge I have

Updated

OK, I did some testing on the PTR and was unable to duplicate the problems that DroppedAtBirth reported. I was, however, able to find that I forgot about the extra bank slot Blizzard gave us in Patch 2.0. Sorry it took so long to figure that out

Unless someone can give some more specifics about problems (item names, bag names, in the bank or not, etc), I'm going to call this one "Updated for 2.2"

Re: Missing Items, Big/Special Bags

I just noticed that EnhancedTradeSkills appears to be missing/ignoring items in some bags. Had a 20 slot engineering bag, all items in it where not showing on the item counts, so I said I didn't have the mats for anything. Items in other normal bags 14/16 slots ect... work. Also had bag on other character that was a 14 slot quest reward bag, "salt something.." that any items in it didn't appear in EnhancedTradeSkills either.

Is there a known issue it can't see in certain bags?
That's the first time I've heard of that, but I don't have any of those bags, so it didn't occur to me to check them. I'll have to get hold of a couple and see what I can find out.

Thanks for the heads-up

Edit: Were any of those bags in your bank? Also, are you using any inventory mods?

Thanks for pointing out my omission.

While I was at it, I added a couple other buyables that I missed.

I posted an updated version. Enjoy.
