Enhanced Tradeskills (Fan Update)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v3.1
by: Sithehenn [More]

I am not the original author.

NOTE: Your cache MUST be reset before using this addon. Log into the character select screen, click the addons button, and disable this addon. Log into the game (any character), and open a tradeskill. Then log out back to the character select screen and enable this addon. Failure to clear the cache will cause the game to hang.

This mod was originally created by Pinky and updated by Romualdo and Triadian. I have had previously modified it to work with Patch 2.4, and have now updated it for WotLK.

From the Readme.txt

How many times have you wanted to know what you could craft when taking into account the inventory in your bank? Well now you can! The standard TradeSkill screen (Alchemy, First Aid, Cooking, etc.) has been enhanced to not only include what you can craft from your current inventory (current behaviour), but also what you can craft if make a trip to the vendor, what you can craft if you include your bank contents, and what you can craft if you include the contents of your inventory and bank and make a trip to the vendor.

The information on the top pane of the trade skill screen has been changed from:

SkillName [INV]
to:
SkillName [TOT/TOTVEN]

where:
INV is the standard count of items you can craft based upon your inventory (normal WOW)
TOT is what you can craft using your inventory and bank items
TOTVEN is what you can craft using you inventory and bank, and a trip to the vendor

there is also two optional figures [ INV / INVVEN/ TOT/TOTVEN]
INVVEN is what you can craft with your inventory and a trip to the vendor

For example:

Healing Potion [7/20]
or
Healing Potion [4/4/7/20]

means that you have sufficient items in your inventory to make 4 healing potions, if you went to a vendor that sold vials you could still make 4, if you include the items in your bank you can make 7 healing potions, and you include a trip to the vendor you could make 20 healing potions.

If you see '-' for a column value that means you've got a weird case where everything to craft the item is buyable, you have some, but not all of those items. Not quite sure what to display for the case where all is buyable... conceivably you could create an infinite number of those items...

Additionally, in the bottom pane in the trade skill screen the reagent name now has additional information about the total available to the user. For example:

Plaguebloom [22]

means that you have 22 plaguebloom herbs in your inventory and bank (the number is your inventory is still displayed in the reagent icon next to the number needed for the item). This allows you to very quickly see what reagents you may still need to get for an item.
History:

2005: Originally started using KC_EnhancedTrades by Kaelten.
2006: Kaelten stopped updating KC_EnhancedTrades, and it fell into "The Land of Outdated Mods."
Went looking for a replacement and found Enhanced Trade Skills (continued) by Triadian, which was an update of Enhanced Trade Skills by Pinky (this was the mod Kaelten based his on).
2007 - Burning Crusade: ETS(continued) stopped working with Burning Crusade, and Triadian was no longer updating it, so I played around and got it mostly working.
- Patch 2.1: ETS(continued) broke hard with new Blizzard TradeskillUI functionality. I poked around under the hood, compared it to the Blizzard code, made a couple changes, closed the hood, and fired it up again.
Present: Seems to be working fine and playing nice (so far) with the other mods I have on my machine, so I thought I'd share what I have with the community.
- See Change Log tab for further updates/changes.

Please remember: This is a Beta version, and therefore it is still a work in progress. If you have any questions/problems, please post them here and I'll see what I can do, since I'm not really much of a coder. If someone else wants to take up this project, please feel free to do so.

3.1: Updated an issue where Blizzard was adding an extra quantity tag.

3.0:Updated for WotLK

2.4d: Fixed a problem with the filters only working on the first character that used the addon, as noticed by Nychz.

2.4c: Re-enabled the filters

2.4b: Added a button to bring up the configuration frame.

2.4a: Updated bank functions to work better with Bagnon and OneBank. Many Thanks to reubenhelms for his assistance! :)

2.4: Updated for patch 2.4, and added some more buyables.

2.2a: Updated a couple more buyables

2.2: Updated for Version 2.2 patch

2.1a: Added a couple of missing items into the buyable item database

2.1: Updated .toc

2.1 Beta: Initial Version
Optional Files (0)

H0PE,

I don't use any inventory/bank addons other than Altoholic. I'm not familiar with the Ace addon structure, but doing a quick scan, it seems that ArkInventory is hooking the bank functions and ETS isn't seeing the results.

You could try disabling ArkInventory and see if that helps.

I did follow those directions. Nothing changed. I even disabled all other addons to make sure another addon was not conflicting with TradeTabs or ETS. This is what I did:
  1. I logged onto the character select screen.
  2. I disabled all addons including ETS and TradeTabs.
  3. I entered the game.
  4. I opened each tradeskill once (mining/smelting, cooking, and first aid).
  5. I logged out and returned to the select screen.
  6. I enabled only ETS and TT.
  7. I re-entered the game.
  8. I opened each tradeskill once. The tabs were not there. I could see the modified title and the configuration button at the bottom.
  9. I then did a /console reloadui.
  10. Upon returning to the game, I opened each tradeskilll again. The tabs were visible.
When I reported this to you yesterday, I had all my normal addons running. I wanted to make sure that none of the addons were interfering. I will try some other stuff to make sure it is not on my end. Thanks again for looking into this.
Smuv,

I looked a little more and realized I was running version 1.6 of TradeTabs, so I upgraded to version 1.7. Upon logging in, I encountered the same issue that you reported. I reverted back to 1.6 and it works fine again. I'm going to have to do a little more research to figure out what changed in TradeTabs. In the meantime, reverting to version 1.6 of TradeTabs will get them both working together again.

Sithehenn,

Cool - I'm glad that you took a look at this. I can downgrade to 1.6 for now to avoid the issue. I hope you are able to get to the bottom of this. As always, keep up the excellent work.
