TomTom  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v80200-1.0.3
by: Cladhaire, Ludovicus

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

  • Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
  • A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
  • Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
  • A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
  • Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
  • Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery
  • Can set waypoints by clicking on quest objective POIs on the World Map and watch frame.
[*]Can automatically set waypoints to your closest quest objective
Please also check out LightHeaded: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ghtHeaded.html
Slash Commands:
/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90
Add a new waypoint in Nagrand at 45, 50:
Code:
/way Nagrand 45 50
Add a new waypoint with a description:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
Remove ALL current waypoints:
Code:
/way reset all
Remove all waypoints in Nagrand:
Code:
/way reset Nagrand
Set a waypoint at the current location:
Code:
/wayb
or
Code:
/wayback
Set the waypoint arrow to the closest arrow in the current zone:
Code:
/cway
or
Code:
/closestway
When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

Some people have asked, so here is a way to send me donations:

If you're looking to bulk import waypoints (to track achievements, etc), a community member has provided a great addon that lets you do this easily. Take a look at Paste.

Speaking of automatic quest waypoints, could you implement an option (or permanent feature) so that this doesn't overwrite the waypoint arrow when you manually set a waypoint? Simple example, you have at least one quest in the tracker, and then you set a waypoint for a HN note or just anywhere on the map - sometimes this arrow persists for a while, but then is written over by the quest one.

Dude, you need to calm down, seriously. I started responding moments after you clicked post and you've already posted three responses that are exaggerating the problem and being overly dramatic?

Please..

In short, disable automatic quest waypoint tracking, or file a feature request for different behaviour. It wouldn't be terribly difficult for me to write an option that makes quest waypoints 'passive' so they only change the crazy arrow if the crazy arrow is already pointing to the previously set quest waypoint.

EDIT: Also, forgive me for taking a whopping 15 minutes to respond to your request. It's not like I needed to open WoW and actually verify your barely given bug report. I guess that's what I get for trying to be thorough and attentive.

I cannot reproduce your issue. Consider the following:

1. Enter a zone that has quest objective waypoints, in this case Borean Tundra on my Death Knight with 15 different quests with objectives.

2. A single waypoint is created for the closest quest objective.

3. I manually create a waypoint for (30, 20) in Borean Tundra by typing /way 30 20. Both waypoints are visible and I can swap between them by right-clicking on either the world or minimap versions and selecting 'Set as waypoint arrow'.

4. I control-right-click on the map to set another waypoint. All three waypoints are still there, still function properly.

5. I control-right-click an objective to set another waypoint. Same.

6. I set a waypoint using /wayb. Same.

I suspect the 'bug' you're reporting is that when you have selected "Enable automatic quest objective waypoints", the tooltip for which clearly states:

Enables the automatic setting of quest objective waypoints based on which objective is closest to your current location. This setting WILL override the setting of manual waypoints.
So it seems to me that TomTom is doing exactly what it advertises it does, if you have automatic quest tracking enabled, then those waypoints will override your manual ones as they shift around (i.e. one becomes closer than another, etc).

Now if you'd like to ask for different behaviour or make a comprehensive bug report I'm happy to listen. As it stands, I would be completely guessing about what your actual problem is.

Please let me know if you can provide more information.

Is this happening when you click ANY objective, because I cannot reproduce this issue at all on any of my characters. If you could please provide some more information (a screenshot and details of when precisely it happens) that would be great. Thank you!

Newest version is great!

Long-time TomTom user, first-time poster - just wanted to say Thank You for this AddOn. The latest update with auto-assigned waypoints is brilliant!

Keep up the good work!

Make sure you both have 1.2 version, as this could be the case as well.
