TomTom  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v80205-1.0.7
by: Cladhaire, Ludovicus

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

  • Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
  • A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
  • Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
  • A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
  • Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
  • Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery
  • Can set waypoints by clicking on quest objective POIs on the World Map and watch frame.
[*]Can automatically set waypoints to your closest quest objective
Please also check out LightHeaded: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ghtHeaded.html
Slash Commands:
/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90
Add a new waypoint in Nagrand at 45, 50:
Code:
/way Nagrand 45 50
Add a new waypoint with a description:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
Remove ALL current waypoints:
Code:
/way reset all
Remove all waypoints in Nagrand:
Code:
/way reset Nagrand
Set a waypoint at the current location:
Code:
/wayb
or
Code:
/wayback
Set the waypoint arrow to the closest arrow in the current zone:
Code:
/cway
or
Code:
/closestway
When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

If you're looking to bulk import waypoints (to track achievements, etc), a community member has provided a great addon that lets you do this easily. Take a look at Paste.

gonna post this on archy too, just in case its their issue
Try disabling TomTom POI integration and see if that helps.

EDIT:

OMG. L2click "Tomtom integration" which became deselected with the patch.

(on the Archy module, which i only discovered because I was looking for the installed version)

=.)
nothing to see here, move along.

No one else should need to do that, and no one should change their imports. It's a local thing only and none of the map data or calculations are even remotely different. Its a super small change, but absolutely necessary for what I need to do. Since the change has not been applied to Astrolabe, this is what I've had to do.

How will the forked Astrolabe included with the current TomTom interact with addons looking for/using Esamynn's old standard version r125?

I can assume that changing other addons to look for TTAstrolabe-1.0 (as well as change the embedded libraries) via something like
Code:
local astrolabe = DongleStub("TTAstrolabe-1.0")
will work. But until I/others spend the time to make the tons of local changes, still would be nice to know the effects of TomTom vs. other mods using the standard version.

I'm sure, when it works , multiple points appear on the maps and when you reach the first one, it is removed and the arrow points to the next closest. When it stop working, only point gets on the map and when you reach that point, the arrow is remove without pointing to anything else.

I'll try to get you more specific data on when the problem occurs. I would like to be able to repeat it reliably.

First off let start with, Cladhaire I absolutely love your TomTom add-on! It is pure awesomeness! Thank you!

Now onto the problem that I am having. I use the /way feature often, but there seems to be a problem with Icecrown. Every time I use /way Icecrown ## ## I keep getting an error stating "Found multiple matches for zone 'Icecrown'. Did you mean Icecrown Citadel, Icecrown"

No matter how I word it in /way I keep getting this error and crazy arrow does not appear nor does make a waypoint. Any clue on how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond, I've been away on holiday.
It also took me a while to see your answer. I did more testing and it doesn't happen all the time. I'm unable to put my finger on it but it appears to start misbehaving after changing zone when a way point is in another zone. I don't have any better data at this point. I've first notice this while using WoWPro Guides. After a while, even if the guide has multiple waypoints, only one is one the map. This doesn't happen right after login. At first I though it was a bug is WoWPro but the trace I did show that WoWPro call AddZWaypoint multiple times as it should.

When the problem happens, other addons will have the same problem. For example, when I was adding multiple trainer locations using Syllabus, only the last one was displayed. Syllabus also use AddZWaypoint.

Is there something that can be set to make TomTom forget previous waypoints? Maybe I can check for something that change a setting and make the situation happen.

I guess I'll go die in Stonecore. I'm not sure why this is occurring. Thanks for the report.

Map Zooming Bug

I have noticed a bug which I have been able to track down to TomTom.
In the stonecore dungeon, if you die and then re-enter the dungeon to ressurect then opening your map to see your location results in it instantly zooming out to the world view with any attempt to zoom back in instantly sending it back again.

Re: AddZWaypoint() remove existing waypoint

Hi Cladhaire,

I'm using TomTom:AddZWaypoint() to add way point in Lua code. I seam to remember that I used to be able to add point without removing existing ones. Nowadays, when I use AddZWaypoint(), previously added points are being removed so I'm unable to have my addon display more then one point at a time.

Is this intended? Is there a way to make the points stick?

TIA for your help.
