TomTom  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v80300-1.1.1
by: Cladhaire, Ludovicus

TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.

TomTom offers the following major features:

  • Set waypoints via command, or by clicking on the world map
  • A draggable coordinate display with customizable accuracy. This frame can be hidden or locked.
  • Player and cursor coordinates on the World Map (these can be hidden)
  • A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination
  • Displaying the "crazy-taxi" arrow or coordinate block in compatible LDB displays (such as NinjaPanel)
  • Show a waypoint that points you towards your corpse for easy recovery
  • Can set waypoints by clicking on quest objective POIs on the World Map and watch frame.
[*]Can automatically set waypoints to your closest quest objective
Please also check out LightHeaded: http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ghtHeaded.html
Slash Commands:
/tomtom - Opens configuration GUI

In addition you can use the /way command to add and reset waypoints. In order to overcome conflicts with the Cartographer /way command, you can also use /tway to access TomTom's waypoint command. The following slash commands are available:

Add a new waypoint at 14.78, 23.90:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90
Add a new waypoint in Nagrand at 45, 50:
Code:
/way Nagrand 45 50
Add a new waypoint with a description:
Code:
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
Remove ALL current waypoints:
Code:
/way reset all
Remove all waypoints in Nagrand:
Code:
/way reset Nagrand
Set a waypoint at the current location:
Code:
/wayb
or
Code:
/wayback
Set the waypoint arrow to the closest arrow in the current zone:
Code:
/cway
or
Code:
/closestway
When you set a waypoint, a dot will appear (green) on your minimap. When it goes out of range of the minimap display, it will turn into an arrow, just like the default UI. You can mouse over these waypoints to get detailed information about that waypoint.

TomTom has been designed to publish the Crazy-Arrow and Coordinate Block as LDB feeds, allowing them to be displayed in compatible display addons. I've written a very simple, easy-to-configure panel that is capable of displaying these called NinjaPanel.

If you're looking to bulk import waypoints (to track achievements, etc), a community member has provided a great addon that lets you do this easily. Take a look at Paste.

Fixes: Vale of Eternal Blossoms N'zoth Invasions issues.

Clueless Noob :P

Although I'm a level 70 i cannot still know how to fix addons out myself :P

So I ask if there's a slash command that Show/Hide the so-called green spots in the World Map (I use Cartographer, it might be why it don't show World Map spots?), or if is simply a feature that has been abandoned...

If so I need to use a previous version of TomTom because I plan all my quests on it...

Thanks man, really a great job, I cannot play without your Addon!

Looking forward to the fixes to the issues mentioned here and on LightHeaded comments. Especially the waypoints appearing under parts of the map (using TomTom with Cartographer) and not being able to see the mouseover tooltips for waypoints when viewing them on the zonemap/worldmap using Cartographer.

Did you end up getting your laptop back today? We got a phone call from Apple last night saying ours would be back this time next week. It's shipping Thursday.
I did get it back, that's why I was able to update. In addition, if anything happens to my laptop in the next year that requires a replacement, they are going to give me a new laptop. Sucks to have it happen, but glad to finally talk to someone who understands.

TomTom has been updated (as we speak)

Yeah the arrow is supposed to be on the edge of the minimap =) I'll release an update sometime tonight.

Yeah, I suppose I can try dropping it down a bit.

1) Mouseover tooltips no longer work on waypoints set by TomTom when viewing them in Cartographer (zonemap, worldmap, etc.)
Will be fixed when I have my machine back

2) Unable to remove waypoints set by TomTom by right-clicking them on the zonemap/worldmap when using Cartographer
_should_ be fixed same.

1) TomTom incorrectly sets a waypoint in the current zone even though the waypoint is for another (not sure how this might be remedied) [/b]
THis isn't incorrect.. Coordinates have two forms:

C,Z,X,Y which gives continent, zone, x and y
X,Y which just gives the x and y coordinate

I can't magically guess, so an x,y coordinate will always be placed in the current done.

Unsure if this has been reported

Using TomTom in conjunction with Cartographer:

1) Mouseover tooltips no longer work on waypoints set by TomTom when viewing them in Cartographer (zonemap, worldmap, etc.)

2) Unable to remove waypoints set by TomTom by right-clicking them on the zonemap/worldmap when using Cartographer

In general (with/without Cartographer)

1) TomTom incorrectly sets a waypoint in the current zone even though the waypoint is for another (not sure how this might be remedied)

Would be awesome to save waypoints between sessions/logout. I had a bunch of waypoints set and unfortunately, I timed out by idling too long. When I re-entered the world, all the waypoints were cleared.

Any thoughts on getting these waypoints to save across sessions? Perhaps make it an option for users to toggle? ("Save active TomTom waypoints across sessions?")
I'll think about it, thanks.

Fubar support would be great as well perhaps giving us the ability to add remove waypoints from a dropdown list?

Anyway thank you again!! [/b]
Thanks! I have no plans to support FuBar.

I would just like to say thank you for this mod it is a great help. I am looking forward to new features added such as main map clicking to add positions and the ability to set coordinates in other zones to the one you are currently in as you have mentioned.

Fubar support would be great as well perhaps giving us the ability to add remove waypoints from a dropdown list?

Anyway thank you again!!
