TomTom is your personal navigation assistant in World of Warcraft. This addon is very simple, but provides a nice set of functionality. Thanks to Esamynn for Astrolabe, which does the bulk of the work in this addon.
TomTom offers the following major features:
/way 14.78 23.90
/way Nagrand 45 50
/way 14.78 23.90 This is a waypoint!
/way reset all
/way reset Nagrand
/wayb Here
/wayback
/cway
/closestway

But if you intend to make a notes addon, I'd gladly suggest some interface and usability consideration for you to review. |

In response to your brainstorming, Cladhaire - I know the WoW-Pro users are a subset of TomTom users so here's some feedback!
The changes you suggested sound excellent to me My addon makes use of queuing waypoints to the crazy arrow, primarily. So better features for that wound be welcome, though the method we have works well enough. We also make use of callback functions to let my addon know when a waypoint has been reached - if there is any chance of that being made easier, it would be awesome, but it's not a hugely vital part of what my users use TomTom for so it's not critical even if it's cut entirely. Hope that helps! |

Speaking of which, I'd like a Cartographer_Notes reworked a bit for current WoW content. With nice cookies like LibSharedMedia support. Tried many notes addons, none of them was as clean as Cart_Notes was. |

Yes, I'd like to do something like this, but there are a few issues with Tomtom right now that are higher priority. My long-term plan for TomTom is to probably split the addon in two (or just remove one portion of it) making a much lighter navigation solution.
I suppose now is an appropriate place to bring this up, but if I were to strip the 'notes' portion of TomTom entirely from the addon, having it instead focus on the crazy arrow functionality (with some basic built-in stuff for corpse arrows, etc.) how disruptive would that be to people? Basically, TomTom would no longer be able to set persistent waypoints. You would still be able to add waypoints to the crazy arrow, and you'd gain a whole bunch of queue management that TomTom is currently missing. You'd instead use something like HandyNotes to set persistent waypoints and then can send those to TomTom using the integration between those addons. Just brainstorm with me here..

Feature Possibility?
Would it be possible to have TomTom's databroker feed also supply the distance to the waypoint in the always-visible text portion of the feed?
I've found that I can mostly do-away with having a Crazy Arrow floating in my 3d world and rely on the mini-crazy arrow that the Databroker feed provides, however, I do miss seeing a countdown of the yards remaining to my waypoint. Unless I'm missing an option/setting, the only way to see the yardage, I've found, is to hover over the mini-crazy-arrow on my ChocolateBar. For obvious reasons, that's less convenient... Thank you for your consideration, and for the fantastic addons. Lightheaded and TomTom were literally the first addons I ever installed, and I've rarely been without them since. Speaking of which, seems like it might be past time for me to show some financial support!

Interface Options -> TomTom -> General Options -> Clear Waypoint Distance
Set this to 0.

Hi,
Is it possible to set waypoints that don't go away when you arrive at them? I want to setup a group of waypoints that I can fly a route with. Trying to find a rare pet to tame. I checked the box in the options that said don't remove them but they still go away when I arrive at them. Thanks, Twidget |

After todays patch it seems TomTom no longer accepting waypoints from either LightHeaded or the text command.
